Unless British McDonald's is top tier compared to the American version its not worth the risk of a fine

It's all a matter of preference.  Do you dig your Big Mac boiled?

There was a young man of Devizes
Whose balls were of different sizes
The one was so small
It was no ball at all
But the other won several prizes.

I visited Devizes last summer. Here is the reason to do so:

In England 100 miles is a long, long way.
In America 100 years is a long, long time.

Lets be honest... Even if the UK had the best version of McDonalds in the world, it'd still only be the best of landfill quality fast food.

The only thing that makes this slightly understandable is that he's in the UK, and what passes for British cuisine.

Last summer was during the pandemic, and the populace doesn't look very committed to public health safety.  No thanks.

To be fair the last is from Luton and nothing ever good comes from Luton.

Everything was open when we visited. Masks the whole time, stayed in a deep cleaned Airbnb and spent our time doing country walks.

Article is way, way off base. I wasn't going to McDonalds. Everyone knows there isn't a McDonalds in Devizes. Duh.

I think what happened is that when the cop finally got me to pull over, I was half dead from starvation and maybe I mumbled a little. I had just driven 100 miles on an empty stomach. The cop must've misheard me.

It sort of fits in, due to the UK, and distance/travel. So, for your literary pleasure, the lyrics to "I'm gonna be" by the Proclaimers:

I recently read a book on a group of Swedish geriatrics; their outings from the nursing home were much of the content. On a trip to McDonald's they asked to see the wine list.

(I wasn't clear if they were screwing with the kid or actually expected to see one; a couple of the guys were heavy drinkers.  I'll be using the line there when it's time for restaurant dining again--have previously had fun sending my compliments to the chef, which they've seemed to appreciate.)

One of the best burgers I have ever had was from a BK in Austria.  EU has better rules about their food and, as a result, fast food burgers and soda just taste better.

/Also - Miller, Bud and Michelob taste MUCH better in Germany due to their beer laws

there is no such think of allies when it comes to money.   the states are out of control with run amuck capitalism.   so much so that we view Europe as Socialist and they view us as used car salesmen gaming everything in sight.

according to the World Democracy Index, our "Democracy" has issues and Capital [sic] hill is partly one of the results of that.

the Press keeps, or kept saying that these insurgents were Democracy Haters.

how is that possible when the congresspeople on Capital [sic] Hill take in tons of big money from corporate lobbyists ( 20,000 of them there now) for their reelection campaigns and for "help" with writing Legislation??

you can't purchase Democracy, Rule by the Majority.  rich capitalists could not care less about Democracy since they are a small minority, yet they want to be the ones in control.

also, it is Myth that Business Interests are the same as the National Interest.  two different things.

run amuck capitalism is eating this Nation alive and the corporate owned TV pretends to not know why.

return our Government of, by and For the People and things will settle down.

Jefferson warned that if these United States ever lose their Free and Independent Press, Democracy will fail.

I need some more context. Did the guy say he was going to McDonald's? If so, does that mean he was lying or he just didn't bother to check if there was a McDonald's before getting in the car to drive 100 miles?

I just checked. There are 68 mcdonald's within 50 miles of me right now.
