I was already to snark but

"During breakfast, Beau would often make me listen to what I thought was his theme song, 'You Get What You Give' by the New Radicals," Biden wrote. "Even though Beau never stopped fighting and his will to live was stronger than most - I think he knew that this day might come. The words to the song are:  This whole damn world can fall apart. You'll be ok, follow your heart."

Joe Biden had a son who died?!

This is the first I'm learning of this!

I witnessed first hand the anguish my mother went through when my eldest brother died of a massive seizure at 55.  You should never be cynical about another human being's grief.

How stupid does a person have to be in order to believe that one side arguing for $600 when the other side is saying "no, it should be $2000" would result in you getting $2,600?

You're looking for things to be angry about.  You want to argue that they should have started at a higher number?  Fine.  But biatching that the second group is "lying" just makes you look dumb.  No one with more three braincells thought that this meant anyone would get the combined amounts.

You don't typically jump minimum wage by huge leaps all at once.  Raising it from $7.25 to $15.00 over 5 years makes sense.  The last jump was scaled each year in the late 2000 as well.

EyeballKid: And didn't he say there should be a $2000 check and not a $1400 check?

Once they passed the $600, he wanted the total to be $2000.  How is this difficult?

EyeballKid: And why is he in just as big a rush as Trump to open everything up if the virus has a more contagious strain now?"

He's not.  He's pushing to make sure it IS safe to open things up as soon as humanly possible. That's why he's planning on utilizing the Defense Production Act to improve vaccine availability and actually create the distribution infrastructure we don't currently have.  Enforcing mask mandates so those that need to be in contact with lots of people are safer as well.

There are a lot of things to get on Biden about on policies and approaches.  But what he's doing right now and planning for his first 100 days is exactly what he should be doing.

I'm sure you've heard 1000x more about his son who a) who got billions from the Chinese b) interfered with a Ukraine investigation c) had child porn on a secret laptop Giuliani found

or various other blatant bullshiat lies

So give the guy a farking break when he wants to tell the truth about his other son.

Ha.  I used to HAAAAAAAAAAATE this song.  when it came out, i hated it.  when it popped up on "one hit wonder day" on the radio, i hated it.  when it popped up in movies or commercials, i hated it.  i absolutely godamn hated this farking song.

then on a family trip to Hawaii 2 years ago it came on and bumping around maui on a gorgeous day, after having spent the day swimming with sea turtles and then a yummy shaved ice, it came on the radio and I found myself rocking out to it, singing the chorus.  so now it's a happy sense memory and yeah, this song kicks ass.

I'm not sure if I'm more surprised by the fact:

a. that the spouse of the Vice president has a "walk-on" song
b. that having a walk-on song, one would choose this one?  I guess Hillary already took "Enter Sandman"
c. that someone would write about it
d. that I would spend time reading about this
e. that I am now spending time commenting on this

Yeah, I believe the guy who put the band together just wasn't happy playing live. In the fact that wherever they go they had to play this one song. It's a good tune and so is "Someday We'll Know". That was the next single.

Goalpost move, and irrelevant to the assertion you made.

EyeballKid: I kid. I'm most certain you can justify her not meaning what she said then, like you've done with the president-elect.

You posted a long list of gripes that make absolutely no sense.  Raising minimum wage never happens all at once, especially when the plan is to more than double it.  It needs to be scaled over a few years.  Biden, ISN'T pushing to "open everything fast" like Trump was.  And it's absurd to claim it.  And your belief that you were going to end up being given $2600 when that was never talked about or on the table is silly.

There are dozens of things to be worried about when it comes to Biden and Harris being in office.  You're inventing distractions and bullshiat about things they're doing correctly.  Stop being a reactionary forum barker, and pay attention to things that are relevant.

Total police reform from the bottom up.  Curtailing PACs and ensuring voting rights.  Enforcement for student loan forgiveness.  Consumer protections.  Actual climate policy.  Just some of the things that are actually meaningful to apply pressure to Biden.  Complaining about how he's doing things EXACTLY correct for minimum wage is just raging stupidity.

So you honestly thought that a political argument between $600 and $2000 would result in you getting both?  Yep, you're definitely one of those that I referenced.  Good job on making yourself utterly irrelevant to reasonable conversation.

Getting $2600 was never a thought in anyone's head other than yours.

You didn't even read what you linked, did you?  It specifically talks about the total amount being "upgraded" from $600 to $2000.  The difference is.... wait for it.... drumroll.... $1400.  And since they passed the $600, you'd expect to get... hold on... carry the 1.... yep, $1,400 additional.

Damn, that's some rough, difficult, painfully obvious math.

What part of bringing a one-hit wonder out of retirement on one's most prominent day is part of the grieving process?

This is callous exploitation and, I fear, hardly the first time we'll see it.

"Hush! That man lost a son!"

And how is giving more money to schools going to help them reopen?

Either it's safe for them to be open or it isn't - no amount of money changes that equation.

From MTV:

In response to the line, MTV's Kurt Loder caught up with Marilyn Manson recently, and asked him about the unexpected lyrical attack, which Manson said he found irritating for only one particular reason.

"I'm giving an open invitation to the singer of the New Radicals," Manson said, "because he's all strange and spiritual, and he challenged me in one of his songs. A lot of people would say, 'Y'know, don't give him the attention, cause that's what he wants.' But I think I'll crack his skull open if I see him."

"What does the song say?" Loder asked.

"Well, you guys are playing it," Manson said, "it says something like, 'Courtney Love and Marilyn Manson, come around here and we'll kick your ass in.' I'm not mad that he said he'd kick my ass, I just don't want to be used in the same sentence with Courtney Love."

Ah, the good ole days

I interviewed that Gregg Alexander clown when this crap song came out, he claimed that he threw in the line about Courtney Love and Marilyn Manson because he he had a theory that people would grasp onto that line. Bullshiat, it was because he wanted cheap publicity for his fourth-generation blue-eyed soul. But at least he was banging Danielle Brisebois, who had grown an impressive rack since her Archie Bunker's Place days.
