Sooooooo close were the Browns. Well played guys. Helluva season.

That's my (backup) quarterback.

I think the Browns got complacent when they thought a Mahomes-less Chiefs meant they were going to come back and win the game.

I understand that they had to figure out a new game plan for a different QB. And they did get an interception on Henne throwing a pass differently than Mahomes would have. But they should have just kept playing hard and I don't think they did.

Except one thing.

0-4.

Tom Brady's signed words on his jersey to Chase Young were very immature and unbefitting of an adult, he really needs to act his age.

As my friend pointed out during the game they're called the Kansas City Chiefs, not the Kansas City Mahomes, or the Mahomes Chiefs.

Sure we're out a star QB and it is impactful but we've had that happen before and we won with High School teacher Matt Moore.

Henne isn't beating the Bills.

Pray Mahomes is healthy.

Not gonna lie.

If this country slurped Tom farking Brady for being on a deep team with an incredible coach...

We can deal with a good not-white QB for a decade.

Chad Henne has won a playoff game more recently than the entire Dolphins franchise.  Are we cursed?

Not really.  Mahomes had Matt Moore, another former Dolphin, as his backup last season.  He was also handing the ball off to Damien Williams (another former Dolphin).  It just shows how horrific the coaching and front office were in Miami for so long, and how bad the personnel decisions had been.

I don't know.  The Chiefs are much, much tougher than the Ravens.  For one thing, Mahomes and Co. play to win, while the Ravens' success is entirely dependent on how much Greg Roman wants to show his ass to everyone.

/From the perspective of this super-casual watcher, Baltimore needs to have a steady stream of coaching changes from here to the preseason, starting with Roman being shown the door.

Henne's 13 yard scramble on 3rd and 14 turned a terrible situation into one where the Chiefs could seal the win.

It certainly made up for that awful pass on 1st and 25 that got intercepted in the end zone, when a more conservative play would have been better.

Texans have pretty clearly said that he isn't going to be traded today. More than that, I don't think the Fins can afford him.

I'd take the other side of that bet.

The SI story was really damning, and everything that he, Dre, and Hop have said on social media the past two weeks have added more fuel to the fire. These guys are growing up in an age of greater player empowerment than ever before, particularly by their peers in the NBA.

If Watson were to theoretically pull a LeVeon and hold out for an entire year teams would still be banging down his door to sign him. You lose a year of play by a QB in his prime in addition to whatever ridiculous draft haul you could get in return for shipping him a year before, you discourage free agents from signing (or have to overpay ala the Raiders in the late 2000s), and realistically you push out a much-needed rebuild years down the line.

The Texans' cupboard is basically bare outside of Watson and Fuller, the latter of whom is a free agent anyway. Trading Watson for a Ricky Williams or Washington RGIII-like haul is the best long term move for the organization, whether they want to admit it or not.

Jets you might have a case, but not the Fins is my point. They just don't have the same kind of haul to offer.

Plus the 'Phins have a ton of high draft picks this year.  I don't see how they need Watson that badly.

Little known fact:  One of Miami's multiple 2021 first-round picks came from Houston for the Laremy Tunsil trade a year or so ago.

I think they're meeting with the Chiefs' OC Eric Bienemy today.

They can trade Tua along with a first round pick at #18 as well as first round picks in 2022 and 2023.  They've definitely got some capital, but the question is, what do they want?  Watson or Tua?  I see it as a win-win for the franchise.  If they want Watson, go for it.  Otherwise, use the picks and surround Tua with a lot of talent.  Personally, I'd prefer the latter.

Why does everyone give up on a QB if he doesn't produce Lombardi Trophies right out of the gate?  It was Tua's first year.  If the Bills gave up on their QB, Josh Allen would be somewhere else.  Give Tua some time.  He is definitely leaning and has progressed as the season went along.

This.  Tua's record for a partial season is pretty good, as evidenced here: https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/barry-jackson/article243962517.html

Tua's gotten better as the season has gone along, given that he became the Dolphins starting QB 7 games into the regular season. He's shown that he can make smart QB decisions and make big plays. Give him a few good playmakers and have him hit the film and point out what he did right and what he could improve on, and I think he will get much better.

Peyton Manning did poorly his rookie year, but he turned out to be an NFL great by the end of his career. And to expect him to be produce stats similar to Mahomes or Watson his rookie year is ridiculous. Talent like that doesn't come every year.
