He didn't need to be a hero.

All he needed was for his sense of civic duty to outweigh his desire to go along with this madness. Many in our government failed this challenge. Pence did not, and he was the key guy - had he fallen many others would have fallen in line behind him and Trump.

I thinks it's all well and good we not lionize him for this, and we remember who he is politically. But I have no problem praising him for making the right choice.

And you shouldn't, either.

Yeah, no. He will never be a hero. He was the one who tried to make it mandatory for a woman suffering a miscarriage to pay to bury the remains. Just in case it was an abortion. He also caused a woman who had an abortion be jailed. He was absolutely rock bottom in his treatment of gays, presumably while he was in cowboy cosplay. Indiana was so sick of this wooden tree stump of a man they were ready to vote him out when he was kicked upstairs.

He used campaign donations to pay his mortgage and Manafort wanted him on the campaign real bad and Manafort was a huge piece of shiat. So why did he want Pence so bad? Because he was so malleable and compromised?

Pence also went after the porn industry. It's no secret conservatives hate the porn industry because it tends to contribute to liberal causes.

He did a lot of damage in 4 years. So no, I will never see him other than the giant turd he is.

No shiat. Doing the bare minimum, which incidentally is what he should be doing anyway, doesn't win him a prize. After making dinner tomorrow night, I can't demand my boyfriend buy me a new car because I did the dishes. You're supposed to wash the farking dishes after you eat. That's what civilized people do.

The cynical part of me thinks Pence is doing this to salvage some semblance of a political career so in 4-8 years he can emerge anew, free of the stink of Trump.

He only did his job after being advised by THREE individual WH lawyers that he couldn't call the election for Trump.

The first two weren't enough so he needed a 3rd opinion.

The only way he would have been a hero is if he had called a meeting with trump, mitch, blanche, cruz, nunes, sanders, hannity, carlson, limbaugh and paul and blew himself up with a suicide vest.

This is probably the end of Mike Pence's career. The guy has no charisma. He can't possibly rile up enough energy at the RNC to be at the top of any Presidential ticket. If he tried, he'd get slaughtered during the primaries. Trumpists hate him for not breaking his oath of office and simply declaring Trump the winner during the certification process, and think he's a traitor to their God Emperor. He can't go back to Indiana politics because he was already on his way out the door there when he was tapped to be Trump's running mate. At best, he goes into the private sector to be a consultant for some right wing/christian organization for 'family values' and is never heard from again.

He can never escape the stink of Trump though.  Lots of people will never vote for him because of that.  On top of that, he's now public enemy #1 among the MAGAts so he's lost their vote too.  I have a hard time seeing him winning an election.

Mike Pence is a scumbag. He's the leash that they wanted to have around Trump's neck, the backup plan should Trump not accomplish what the GOP wanted. Pence is to Trump what Palin was to McCain - the GOP-placed foil. Problem is, Pence is farking inept. Not in a cutesy, bumbling, "Sergeant Schultz-to-Trump's-Colonel-Klink" kind of way, but in a "has-an-overlapping-but-different-right-wing-evangelist-GOP-agenda-meant-to-use-Trump-as-snowplow" kind of way.

We can debate the relative merits of Trump vs. Pence all farking day, or discuss Pence's merits as a standalone asshole, but the upshot is that the entire goddamned Republican Party worked for over two decades to get us to this point - where they felt comfortable enough employing a goddamned mob to storm the Capitol building & disrupt this country's due farking process solely because, if it went well, they could claim power and, if it went badly, they could blame it all on Trump & RWNJs.

Smirking GOP assholes sit in Congress, laughing up their sleeves. Loud, complicit GOP mouthpieces litter this country's media, working hard even now to revise what they can & cloud what they can't regarding the events before & since Biden's election win. I'm frankly farking tired of it, the whole arrogant, pompous, presumptuous, mendacious lot of them, so when I hear Biden talk about "unity" before we've figured out who needs to be expelled from Congress, who needs to be imprisoned, what needs to be changed to prevent this mess from happening again, I want to farking hurl the whole lot of them into a goddamned event horizon.

Yes, the man is a coward. Always has been.

"There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what ... who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims. ... These are people who pay no income tax. ... and so my job is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them that they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."

That was the quote of the year for 2012, according to Yale.

I don't need to qualify it. In a time when so many people on the spot made the decision to favor the blatantly illegal option, he did not.

That is the low bar. So many others failed. Pence did not, not even when Trump put him under tremendous public pressure to so.

I don't have to like him to praise him, because he should be praised. He did the right thing. Full stop.

Uh, yeah. No one is advocating for Superpence. The GOP is upset with him for doing his job. The Democrats are just happy he did his job. No one describing Pence as a hero though. He just did his job as described in the Constitution.
In less than three days, we'll never have to think about him again except when someone asks "Hey, remember that asshole?  No, not the Orange one. The milquetoast boot locker that called his wife 'mother'. Yeah, that one".

Satan's unwavering policy is to welcome all.

I own a nice condo by the Lake of Fire. Are you interested in applying to torture Mike Pence in Hell for as long as you care to? There's an optional training course that was designed when Trump got Covid-19 as a contingency in case it spread to Pence, it teaches awareness of all of his weak points, likes and dislikes.

History is written by the winners.  The Donald J. Trump will have a Mike Pence Wing which shows all the great things the VP has done for il Douche.  Of course, it will have a separate admission and you'll have to buy and download a second app to get the immersive, forgive me, fly on the wall, perspective.  And if you want to go back to the Donald Trump exhibits, you'll have to buy another ticket/app because the only exit is out on to the street.

D2S has no idea the wing is there.  He's never been in a library and he's not gonna start now.
