I have a feeling this is the last we'll see of him alive. I commend the devotion to his cause and courage of his convictions. I believe Putin let him live coontil the poisoning) to give a veneer of a democratic opposition. Putin doesn't give a damn about that veneer any more and will (likely already has given the) order this guy's plug be pulled.

Navalny is Russian for Benigno Aquino.

I hear they're charging him with surviving an official poisoning attempt. The penalty is death by poisoning.

2021-01-17 4:41:36 PM
It was stupid of him to go back there. He was a dead man as soon as he got on the plane.

Pussy move, Putin, just like poisoning.

2021-01-17 6:04:47 PM
Putin is such a pathetic little tyrant... all this does is prove just how threatened he feels from Navalny.

2021-01-17 6:05:16 PM
Cowards murder critics.

He had to know this was going happen - wonder what his end game is?

He ded.

Why did he go back?

Just calling him in for a chat and a cup of tea.

I guess the Obvious tag had already been jailed or poisoned

2021-01-17 6:08:25 PM
Everyone knows that this was a death sentence for him. Does he know something the rest of us don't? Why would someone choose this form of suicide?

2021-01-17 6:08:53 PM
Putin doesn't give a f*ck anymore. He'll straight up have him killed while in custody and no one will do anything about it. Western and NATO nations will condemn it but Putin will remain dictator and continue to silence opponents

He won a free boat.

So I guess you could say his chances of defeating Putin, just went right out the window?

Sorry, Sorry. I'll see myself out.

Difficulty: a Democrat will be President of the United States in a few days, and will have control of Congress. Sanctions are a real threat now, and the last round of Democrat-led sanctions seriously skullfarked Putin's economy.

I'd say be careful around windows and elevator shafts, but the Russian forecast still says a 99% chance of hail of bullets.

I'm sure Trump will dash off a strongly worded love letter to Putin.

Does he have family there that was being threatened maybe?  Other than that, I have no farking idea

2021-01-17 6:18:14 PM
I can understand why he went back. If he didn't, the Putin-ites would accuse him of being a coward, not caring about Russia, embracing the West instead of his own country, etc. They would claim it was proof that Navalny never actually cared about fixing corruption in Russia.

All bullshiat lies, of course, but he'd be in a no-win situation. At least now, given his very high profile, and the world's eyes are upon him, whatever happens to him only reflects poorly on Putin. Navalny may pay with his life, or years of imprisonment, but it will be one more nail in Putin's coffin with the rest of the world.

A matyr is powerful. Something Putin seems to be happy to give his opposition.

I'm starting to think this Putin fellow isn't too smart.

Its sad how many fascist sympathizers are willing to do Putin's work for him.

Dirty liberal lies, he was arrested after plane landed

2021-01-17 6:45:37 PM
Navalny has giant testicles....big enough also to absorb a potentially left at amount of toxin applied to his undies, too.

And to everyone asking why he returned...you do realize the KGB FSB has knocked off political rivals and dissidents on foreign soil in very recent times as well, right? He can either live his life in the West giving "Putin sucks" speeches to academics and diplomats while still always having to look over his shoulder, or he can stare the devil in his face and make a bigger impact on his home country even if he dies five minutes from now.

I wonder if Putin is currently just holding him hostage and plans on trading his life/freedom for concessions from the rest of the western world as the political worldscape returns to familiar, non-Trump patterns.

Sanctions are kind of worthless until all of Europe is on board... and they arent. First step should be to kick all russians ''diplomats'' in nato countries, close all embassies and tell the ruskies to get farked. Next up : kick them out of world banking (which should have been done years ago) then cut off their internet. Jam their wifi and cut off all internet cables in and out of russia. Ban all russians from all NATO countries. Russian passport? Fark you. You work for russia,s government? No diplomatic immunity for you. GTFO. All those russian pipelines into europe? Blow them up.

He is smart enough to have stolen enough from his country to become the richest person in the world in spite of any Western sanctions, and get his government to give him lifetime immunity from prosecutions. Those KGB guys were both evil, and crafty.

The movement needs a martyr. He may not be around for the end of it, so he's making sure to be there at the start of it.

More courage than I have.

How does Europe heat their homes? I agree with your sentiment, but Putin has stolen all the money he will ever need, and he wouldn't be the one paying the price. He would just retreat to his palace with his miniature giraffes.

Have you seen his numbers lately?

Let's hope not.
But yeah, they both flew back to their countries to stand up for themselves and they both knew they would probably die for it.
Not sure why people think this is a joke..

However, he's got Parkinson's Disease, so the only future he's facing is a spiral into pain, incontinence, and death.

A fitting end for tyrants...
