I'm starting to suspect I know who the producers behind all of Cage's recent work are:

I like how meta it is that a man desperate for money agrees to clean the Chukecheese and Cage is desperate enough for money to agree to play him.

so another attempt at a Five Nights at Freddie's rip-off?

I wonder why that game franchise can't get their own proper movie?

The new Crood's movie was fun.  I thought it was way better than the first.

Saw the documentary about Danny Trejo a few months ago.  Robert Rodriguez was telling a story about a conversation he had with Danny and he was working on a movie.  Robert asked him what the name of the movie was, Danny paused for a few seconds and responded he had no idea.  I expect Nic has similar experiences where he's filming something and can't remember what the movie is called.

This sounds like a Ben Edlund noodle script proposal for Angel that got passed up in favor of "Smile Time" fifteen years ago.

Gotta be honest:  I don't think Cage deserves this.  He could make one really good gonzo film a year for a decent director and make the same money.  He's still enough of a cult figure, he can crank out the work, he's fun to watch when the movie isn't absolute eye-scratching bowel-clawing dreck.

Nic will do any movie, I'm fairly convinced of that fact. The cool part is that while he might not be the star he was, he is still a star, so he's bringing a bunch of interest to projects that would otherwise never be seen.

I thought it was funny that the article mentioned a bunch of other movies that is was similar to, but didn't mention FNaF.

Other great movies on the horizon:
Killers Moto,
Larceny Moving Vehicle,
Two Weeks

"It's about a man who needs some cash fast". The film's synopsis is correct in more ways than one.

nursetim: Robert asked him what the name of the movie was, Danny paused for a few seconds and responded he had no idea

He's usually doing a minor role or a cameo and lots of them and most of them are similar so it makes sense he doesn't remember.

He's gets paid millions to essentially make glorified home movies.  There are worse things to be, in life.

They are getting one and it should come out this year, from Blumhouse.
I wonder how long before we'll see Cage doing Asylum produced movies.

He may be in a lot of bad roles and movies, maybe he likes to work or needs to work so he kinda takes anything.  When he is in the right role though, he is really good.

I thought he was good in Next.

I, for one, LOVE Nic Cage's work. He acts sedated for the first 3/4's of any movie he's in - then the meds wear off leaving us to behold the real manic Nic TM in his full-blown unhinged madness.

One person's B movie is one persons Oscar winner.

Big budget doesn't necessarily mean good either, and I've seen a lot of really good indie movies over the years.

I rarely watch any Nic Cage movies, but for some reason I've become this weird mega-fan where I just love him. Shine on you beautiful diamond unapologetic bugass crazy nut. (I haven't heard anything about him being a real asshole in life, so if he is then dammit)

It's so crazy that producers will make movies like this, ripping off other people's properties, when there's a crazy amount of really good short stories and games that they could pick up for almost nothing.

Hell, they probably could have gotten the real FNAF rights for a low price, considering the budget on the one that's actually going into production right now.

The FNAF movie kept getting delayed because the game creator was dicking around with the script. They're set to start filming in March, but that may not happen. The window for that movie may already be closed.

Based on the trailer alone, I'm ready to pre-order the bluray. This thing looks like an absolute blast! Big, silly, over the top violent, and Nic Cage at his Nic Cagiest murdering the f*ck out of demonic animatronics. There is literally nothing about that that I don't like.

keep in mind actors are just moving pieces of furniture under someone else's direction. if what you see pleases you it's almost coincidence. the actor is not free to play a role as they see fit. like you or I at work, we all do what we're told.

I recently saw a NC movie, Matchstick Men. and once again I asked myself "How does this guy get work?".

The Sorcerer's Apprentice - I enjoy it (Alfred Molina makes all things better)
Bankok Dangerous - I also enjoy it, its accidently a character piece
Knowing - This one not great
Ghostrider - I enjoy it
Next - This one is pretty fun
Wickerman - It alternates between sedately boring and off the wall bonkers looney toons.

Note:  I'm not sure if any of them are good movies but out of his entire catalog (of which I think I've seen half of) I think there are only 3-5 boring performances.  Which is  a pretty high hit rate for as many movies as he's done.
