Historical Chinese bonds?

Wow.   Trying to collect the defaulted debt of a defunct previous gov't from the current gov't?

MattyBlast

Rest assured that these mega-church bastards are in for a rude awakening when it's time to meet their maker.

Relying on that unsubstantiated supposition is what enables them to continue in their deceitful ways.

evilsofa: That's low on the list of creepy megachurch pastor smiles. See any picture of Joel Osteen. And then there's Kenneth Copeland:

If it ever turns out to be true that there are lizard people wearing human skin suits amongst us, Copeland will be right at the top of that list.

God is everywhere and hears all of our prayers.
Sent me $10 to find out how.

/totally not a scam
//Jesus needs your $10
///he's still omnipotent

Gooch: Too bad for the Fark liberal hivemind that Saint Obama was included in his clientele

After 4 years of literal Trump worship, conservatives are still stuck on the Obama is the Messiah talking point. It's like you have no self-awareness.

After his prison term he might be getting too old to preach

How many people have to attend before it is a "megachurch"?  Also, is there an official scale somewhere, like for hurricanes?

1. Must seat over 10,000
2. Prosperity Gospel is main focus
3. Pastor has to be an author
4. Must offer daycare services

When the word "megachurch" is used, fraud is a given.

FTFA: He's been a spiritual adviser to Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

Huh, I wonder why you didn't mention Bush at all. Could it be that you are a partisan hack? (On MY Fark? More likely than you think.)

My guess is that neither one of them had much to do with this guy. The president probably has dozens of spiritual advisors whose main purpose is to chime in on how their congregations will react to various laws/policies. I'd be surprised if he met either one in person.

Alphax: Megachurch pastor - fraud is a given.  Convicted of it, that's rare.

He's black and hit the investor class.

Another Government Employee: talkertopc: "We're very disappointed that Mr. Caldwell's contributions to society and his extraordinary efforts to make every victim whole resulted in a sentence that is disappointing," LeBlanc said.

Giving the victims their own money back because he got caught does not make him a good man. Maybe someone should investigate this LeBlanc's finance.

Most large churches have liability policies to cover this problem, hence how the church was able to make everyone whole.

Any time you subject people to a large, often unregulated revenue stream there is a  temptation of skimming.

Taxation of the organization, while worth pursuing, will not solve basic human greed.

Taxation means that it's more likely to be caught as there's A LOT more documentation, and people actually looking at the finances.

He looks like the guy in every Mummy movie just before the insects start flying out of his mouth.

Someone should photoshop this!

they're all fraud schemes, mega or not. Arrest them all.

Moran. If you want to use religion to get rich then preach the prosperity gospel. So long as you are telling your sheep to donate in exchange for god's blessings the Government will not touch you.
