sithon: They got lucky. Moose can be dangerous

Hooly shiat can they be dangerous. That's a cow moose, with calf. Deadly as fark.

CSB time:
Early one summer backpacking in RMNP on the Tonohatu trail and camped at this mosquito infested spot in the forest. I noticed a lot of game trails at the site. After pitching my tent, my buddy went to take a shiat.  I was in my tent, escaping the mosquitos, and hear my buddy say, "I see what looks like a horse, but no one is riding it." I was confused until he came running back to camp, pissed off cow moose behind him.

He ducked behind a tree with another friend who was with us. I was in the tent, and the cow moose stopped about 15 feet from me, with an unobstructed line direct to me.

She snorted and stomped, that's when the calf bolted through and up the hill. She locked eyes with me, I looked away knowing that I could farking die right there if she decided to charge. She snorted and stomped again, and then took off up the hill.

I took a deep breath as my friends laughed. They had no idea how dangerous that situation was. It was way more dangerous that than the icy switch backs we crossed with no spikes or crampons.

They were proper scared of moose after I explained how dangerous that situation was.
