Not one I'd say is the best ever made, but definitely up there in the rankings of the best. For me, the special effects don't hold up, to overly distracting effect, proving that usually the less you see of the monster in any horror film, the better. It ratchets up the tension, adrenaline, and fear when you allow the viewer's mind to run with whatever effect you've chosen to suggest the monster is present or approaching.
