Buddy of mine an I did this back in high school with a VW Microbus. And yes, it was filled with rakes and shovels and implements of destruction. We only got it about four feet off the ground. But I think we fared better on the landing.

It's easy to completely trash a Chrysler.  Just put 60,000 miles on it, and it will fall to pieces.

Doesn't sound THAT easy. It would mean having to spend 60k miles driving a Chrysler.

Article's final paragraph:
It seemed to drive fine after the takeoff and, more importantly, the touch-down. If that's not enough to convince you that the Ram TRX is built to take the abuse, then you're probably better off going with something more...tactical.

I know someone who accidentally did this on asphalt with a Ford Taurus. The struts were poking through the hood afterwards.

Everyone wants to beat the TRD and Raptor.

...people don't realize there's years and years of R&D, previous excellent models to go off, and a frame and engine built rough-shod enough you could use cheesecloth for an air filter and park it in a puddle daily...

...The TRX can... but... let's see a lunar odometer and how it's doing.

I had a picture once that was lost many hard drives ago, a couple of car haulers at the Dukes of Hazzard set loaded up with trashed Chargers.  I mean full on 18 wheeler car haulers with about eight cars on each trailer, and there were still more cars waiting to be loaded up.  Probably two dozen trashed Chargers.

It was....depressing.

he is not paid or given vehicles.  he makes enough $ from youtube views, he can afford this kind of shenannigans.  Mike also has a few Lambo's (Aventador & his ol lady's Urus), a chevy truck or two, a A brand new Raptor that he jumped a few weeks ago. A raptor in white camo his giving away with an LBZ Duramax. .  When your bringing in$35,000/ month from views and you're a finance wiz, these things are possible in this world now.   who knew?

Vehicles like this are so expensive that they're more likely to be bought merely as poser redneck status symbols.

Much like other US automakers, Dodge isn't selling its high-end vehicles to those who need functionality.

I am gonna make the logical leap that if the back glass shattered, the window frame compressed... So, either he hit the front end hard enough to deform the passenger compartment, or he bent the frame.

Sure, the truck may be drivable, but I bet if you put it up on a rack, you'd see it's got extensive damage and is probably totaled. Congratulations?

I hope this is uncovered as a paid advertisement and Dodge, this guy and the publication all get farked out of existence. There should be a disclaimer that the driver was compensated and for sure a 'professional driver on a closed course' disclaimer. Someone should try this at home.

He had tires in the bed as well, would certainly be possibly one got dislodged on landing and struck the window, which is further evidence of stupidity on having anything in the bed at all.

Marcus Aurelius:  It's easy to completely trash a Chrysler.  Just put 60,000 miles on it, and it will fall to pieces.

Pretty much.  Try to find a dash for an older Dodge truck.  You can't.  They all disintegrated after a few years.  Not the dash cover.  The entire dash.  You were eventually left with just the AC ducts, the A/C controls hanging by the wires, and the instrument cluster hanging by the wires.  There are no new ones, they were quickly used up on warranty repairs.  There are no used ones because they are all now in pieces.

- Though an argument could be made that this was Mercedes' fault.  They had started on a "everything biodegradable" kick in the '90's and it started with their wiring looms insulation all failing and by '00 there were a number of trim pieces that would just fall apart.  It winds up leaving out correct amount of plasticizers allowed the plastics to biodegrade all right.  It was just happening while the car was still newish.

-- But then again well before they were bought by MB Chrysler employees did refer to their own customers internally as PODS.  Poor Old Dump Sh*ts.  Though to be fair most of their customers were poor, old, and dump.  There is no evidence that they were sh*ts though.

--- Some of the older ('60's, early '70's) Chryslers actually had good engineering for the time.  From the late '70's on is when they really earned their current reputation.

The frame is probably bent, but if you watch the video they talk about the tires in the bed breaking loose from the mount and breaking the window. So at least for the rear window, there's a non-frame-bending explanation.

I still wouldn't jump a $90K truck, but that's just me.

There are a lot of folks responding who have no idea how these channels work.

Fact:  The website in question is not an advertisement for the channel.  They're leeching the viewership to generate clicks and views.  They hope that aggregate sites like Fark will link to them, rather than the video itself.

Fact:  The videos were sponsored, but not by the manufacturer.  The call out for the designs, and the link found in the description, is a paid promotion.

Fact:  They make quite a bit of money from each video, and will post it to multiple platforms, all of which are monetized, and will continue to generate revenue.  In addition to the generic ad monetization, the aforementioned promotional placements expand the value of each upload.

Likely:  They act like idiots on film because the character is entertaining, and generates viral views.  Most successful channels with sustained monetization and content, tend to be business savvy individuals.  You'll notice that the video also includes a full merchandise warehouse.  They all likely make a very healthy living.

Farkers and Farketts, there you have a classic example of having too much disposable income. He wasn't even too much upset that he wrecked his brand new car and commented that the gardener could fix the lawn he shredded.

I kept waiting for him to hit that stand pipe that poked out of his lawn, but he missed it.

I'll bet his mechanics love him. $$$$

I unintentionally did a small jump in a Trans Am, when a guy pulled out in front of me. The windshield shattered on the landing and the T-tops wouldn't line up anymore. But it actually drove better after that. Sealed up the tops with silicone and got a new windshield, drove it for a couple of years until everything else started falling apart like a normal 70's GM car.

It's easier to point and laugh for most people.  I'd imagine the ones making money by acting like dipshiats do some laughing themselves, off-screen.

/mind you, not claiming some of these people aren't essentially playing themselves as a role
