Morticians are doing very well.

2021-01-15 11:59:46 PM
That is a fact. Absolutely.  An alternative fact.

/The survivors of the Bowling Green Massacre are the only ones who are doing better.

On Bill Maher's show, sure, why not.

And many people are not better off.

2021-01-16 12:09:08 AM
Actually, who is better off? Someone who didn't start with a net worth above six or seven digits, please. If I didn't put a "no millionairoids" qualifier in there, it'd be a silly question.

Even the hate-above-all crowd is objectively worse off, between DeVos being DeVos (yes, that crowd can get dumber), and a virus that's killed an order of magnitude more than it ought've in the US.

By "people" she means billionaires. No denying they're better off.

The rest of us being f*cked over is why.

2021-01-16 12:14:38 AM
Why are the people least likely to be better off after the last 4 years so adamantly supportive of giving Trump another 4 years in office? Do they like it when billionaires point at them and laugh or something?

MrBallou: By "people" she means billionaires. No denying they're better off.

She can't count all that high, which is why a tiny fraction of humanity still qualifies as "many".

Most people are doing worse

God, I wish she'd just f*ck the hell off.

Net job loss in Trump's term, the first President in 80 years to have created no jobs at all despite $1.7T in tax breaks to stimulate the economy >80% of which went to the very wealthy and corporations.  Net drop in quarterly GDP.  Betrayed our Kurdish allies in Syria, insuring victory for the Assad regime and securing it within the Russian sphere of influence. Betrayed the Palestinian Authority and abandoned any pretense at being an honest broker in peace negotiations.  Backed out of the Paris Climate Accord, the TPP, The Open Skies Treaty, the Iran Nuclear Arms Control Agreement, staged photo ops with Kim Jong Un giving him propaganda fodder for years to come, gave up joint military exercises with the ROK, got nothing in return- the PRK has returned to nuclear missile testing including a ballistic missile submarine and has more nuclear warheads than it did when Trump took office. Installed a foreign agent as his National Security Advisor and pardoned him before he was sentenced.  Pardoned all of his crooked campaign staffers and advisors including that ratfarker Roger Stone.

Downplayed Covid 19 as just the flu, said it would go away when the weather got warmer, refused to wear a mask, held rallies that became super-spreader events, resulting in 389,000 deaths due to Covid 19 with approximately 4k more dying every day now. Tried to take credit for a vaccine that was created by a company that didn't participate in his Operation Warp Speed, hasn't been able to deliver even half of the number of doses he promised.

Told more lies than any past POTUS by an order of magnitude, including the Big Lie that he won the election, impeached twice, incited a seditious mob that attacked the US Capitol and threatened to lynch his own VP and Congressional leadership, never produced a health care plan, the additional 10% middle class tax cut he promised during the midterm election, didn't build the border wall he promised, Mexico didn't pay for it and he stole money from other departments to build the pitiful few miles of wall he replaced.

Lined his pockets with tax dollars, obstructed justice more times than Dick Nixon, engaged in rampant nepotism installing his unqualified daughter and son in law on the WH staff and handed out jobs to his cronies relatives, pocketed campaign donations, paid off porn stars, paid $25M to settle suits by students he defrauded with his "Trump University" his personal charitable foundation was shut down for engaging in self dealing, outright fraud and illegal campaign contributions and his worthless son in law helped MBS with PR after MBS ordered the murder and dismemberment of a US resident journalist ...

and that's just the incredibly shiatty things he's done that I can recall off the top of my head.

Accomplishments?  Taking credit for two countries that weren't even in a cold war with Israel signing a "peace deal" that his administration didn't broker.

fark OFF, Kellyanne "Faces of Meth" Conjob.

Ah yes, the "many people" claim again. Here's one for you: Many people want you to STFU and stop undermining the foundations of our republic through your incessant lying.

2021-01-16 1:19:22 AM
She fails to mention Trump incited all that stuff last week...

Oh BTW Trumps legacy is a dumpster fire. That is all

2021-01-16 1:23:31 AM
Fark Maher for giving her a platform.

2021-01-16 1:31:47 AM
You know what, Kellyanne?

I am better off.

While Trump's been in office, I earned tenure at my university and a huge raise. My husband was promoted. We've both desperately worried about money our entire lives, and now...I think we may be rich? We may gut our hideous pink-pinewood kitchen and pay cash. It's really farking awesome. We even both get to work from home indefinitely because of covid.

Except my job was formed under Obama's economic policies.
Except we were able to buy our house only because of economic incentives pushed through by Obama but generally opposed by Republicans.
Except our extended families are doing worse under Trump. Y'know, just like the majority of other Americans.
Except a single serious health issue could destroy our finances.
Except much of our continued well-being is founded upon the Democratic legislation in our very blue state.
Except we can't really go anywhere because of the unthinkably stupid handling of the pandemic.
Except we've lost people we care about because of the unthinkably stupid handling of the pandemic.
Except we live in a country that tramples human rights, human dignity, and human decency, over and over again.
Except we live in a country run by a traitor and supported by traitors, a country whose central heart was recently ravaged by traitors.

You know, Kellyanne, by people who follow your boss. By people like you, Kellyanne.

So maybe my husband and I really aren't better off? It sure as shiat seems like the country isn't.

I guess what I'm trying to say, Kellyanne darling, is that you should go fark yourself with a chainsaw, you discount Nazi c*nt.

2021-01-16 2:55:02 AM
Technically i am better off.  I got two promotions, my 401k is ok, the stock in my company i work for doubled... so yea im better off.  did it have to do with trump? not really.

my company got at least 10b in taxes back from the trump tax cut and still did layoffs.

i am better, but the country isnt

Yeah, those billionaires that increased the gap by several fold are certainly better off, and I guess there's enough to be called "many".

Many people.

culebra: Fark Maher for giving her a platform.

I used to watch him from time to time, he made some interesting points and had guests with opinions worth listening too, and even some opposing viewpoints worth at least keeping an eye on to check yourself against.

Then he started inviting people like this and shiatting on millennials on the regular. So, yeah, fark that GenX/Boomer. If he's taking the position that people today just aren't "working hard enough" then he's so out of touch to not be worth bothering with.

huh, Arianism? that's the reason Santa Claus punched Arius at the First Council of Nicaea. surprised it survived for so long after that, I thought it was declared dicta or something.

Billionaires are doing better and morgues are doing better. Aside from that, nope. So 99.999% of people arent doing better. Fark off and die already.

2021-01-16 3:04:08 AM
Only the people with zero ethics or empathy could possibly be better off.

Don't forget that this administration has been running child concentration camps on our behalf for years now, and did everything they could to take away healthcare from as many Americans as they could, in the middle of a farking pandemic no less.

No matter how much money one may have in the bank right now, the past four years have been a collective embarrassment of historic proportions.

2021-01-16 3:04:29 AM
About 400K people are ''better off'' (heavy sarcasm) by not being alive in that country anymore, they are free of the suffering of stupidity and hubris.

2021-01-16 3:05:26 AM
Well, if you read some of the analysis, like how the guy who actually did not taze himself in the balls and die became a radical, a lot of those people ABSOLUTELY gave all of the credit for the improving economy to Trump.

2021-01-16 3:05:57 AM
Even many wealthy people have watched their wealth decline over the last four years. The collapse of the economy over the last year has undone a lot of the tax cut stuff which Trump did.

I understood from a Fark thread that even the statistic that black family incomes grew faster than white family incomes (thus narrowing that gap) during the four years of Trump is that families with investments and owning property saw their values decline, which affected white families more. It wasn't any initiative or effort by the Trump administration, it was just a reflection that he managed to fark things up for investors by comprehensively failing to slow the spread of COVID and lying about it all year.

2021-01-16 3:06:25 AM
Sure, if you count being dead as "better off."

2021-01-16 3:06:34 AM
But he was the most pro-life President ever. What you've lost in net worth, you've gained in babies.

2021-01-16 3:09:20 AM
When someone says "Well, you can't deny X"... unless it is a scientifically verifiable fact I immediately want to punch that person in their stupid arrogant faces.

Unsurprisingly it is a buzzphrase for Trumpers trying to guild their Turdlord.

Smoking GNU: About 400K people are ''better off'' (heavy sarcasm) by not being alive in that country anymore, they are free of the suffering of stupidity and hubris.

The families stuck with the hospital and funeral bills for those who died aren't likely to be better off.

Debt servicers, bankruptcy lawyers, divorce lawyers, billionaires who got huge tax cuts, it is true that many are better off.

Ever heard of a Banana Republic? They were called that because Republicans removed democratically elected leaders and installed right wing dictators that were friendly to the USA and would sell us our fruit. We installed Saddam in Iraq for oil. Fasces is the root of fascism, to use a bundle of sticks (people) with an axe head to kill those you disagree with, it is from Roman times. They went to kill their second in command, the Vice President.  We must marginalize at least the types that lead this sort of thing. Stop telling them it is ok to be wrong. Does a teacher tell a child it is ok to be wrong and let the child continue to be wrong?

When right wingers rage about coastal liberal elites they are talking about assholes like Maher.

The fact that most liberals don't like the asshole either doesn't seem to register with them.
