There's a pub not too far from where I live that fries up freshly cut potato chips to order in a cast iron pan. All I can say is that I hope they are still around when the 'rona shiat is all over because I would really like to camp out on a barstool for an entire weekend eating those.

I stopped eating potato chips four years ago and I guess I'm healthier for it.

I stick with the kettle variety. Thicker, crunchier, much more substantial and fulfilling so i eat less of them in one go. No fancy flavors needed, a really good brand of plain has more than enough tastiness

I dreamt of buying and eating chips last night, so this is good timing.

I bought two bags of Doritos, one of ruffles sour cream and cheddar, but I cannot remember the fourth bag. I only had a chance to eat some of the ruffles, as I discovered while putting groceries away that my fridge was infested with some kind of fly and I then had to clean it.

Dreams are farking random as hell.

Last year I went on a deep frying binge. Potato chips are ridiculously easy to make and dangerously delicious. Hello cholesterol, my old friend.

I used to eat lots of salted snacks. Then I got a kidney stone. They warned me that salted snacks are a precursor to lots of kidney stones.

So, no thanks.

What did you fry them in, lard?

NTTAWWT, but the cholesterol part was a surprise.

A high salt diet causes you to excrete more calcium, a typical component of kidney stones.

Oops, that was posted before coffee kicked in this morning. Scratch that.

However, I do have a whole bunch of lard rendered and just sitting around, so...

I went about 10-12 years without potato chips, always liked 'em, never loved them though, so was fairly easy to give up. Then maybe 2 years ago, I tried a little single serving bag and opened the floodgates-still don't eat them too often, but love them (don't love old similar faves like that-not cheetos/fritos/doritos, but chips still got it).

I'm not one of those eat a whole bag at a time guys.

I will spread a 200g bag out over several meals,
say with hot dogs or some other healthy main.

And they need to have a Coke with em.
Milk and potato chips aint the same.

I ate some of those 3D Doritos this week.  I like those pretty well.   But they were like a spicy Jalapeno flavor, and I don't even see that flavor on doritos.com.

Weird.

I usually get the Jalapeno kettle chips.

Doritos Tapatio chips are really addictive. You will need napkins.

Pfft. Either I will put some in a cup and coax one into my mouth at a time, or I'll be a drunken slob and simply lick my fingers, then wash up afterward.

Napkin... Feh.
