Don't worry, we can always count on Democrats to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

We aren't that lucky.

Republicans still control a large number of state houses in a redistricting term. 10 more years of a highly favorable political map will do wonders for their prospects.

Not like a lot of Americans are getting any smarter, so same old shiat.

Fingers crossed.

They still have gerrymandered districts all across the country and control of most state governments. This isn't going away anytime soon.

They still have the books they wrote and government sponsored monopolies on those books.

They still have concentrated corporate media ownership.

They still have a captive public without a vibrant public domain of entirely free scientific knowledge to fight their disinformation.

They still have high education costs that enshrine higher education being an exclusive luxury product for a wealthy white minority.

They have Ron DeSantis genociding Democrats in Florida by targeting the vaccine to GOP donors.

They have Disney doing the heavy lifting and most people can't even see it because they confuse Disney with sincere positive childhood memories, so any criticism of Disney is dismissed in favor of promoting the genocide lead by DeSantis.

They have musical Hollywood oligarchs poisoning the Biden administration already. Linking Biden and Hollywood from the start at the inauguration to ensure qanon perceives the Biden administration as a partner of "cannibal pedophiles" like Lady Gaga. Doesn't matter that their reasoning is fraudulent, the violence is real and it'll persist throughout the Biden administration and target Democrats in power thanks to Hilary Rosen's efforts.

I was thinking that even if a bunch of R Congress Critters are sent up the river via the 14A, they would just get replaced by somebody just as bad and probably worse.

Sure they will.

The reality is, they'll be all the more willing to take foreign money to fund whatever pet projects they have.  While they take an oath to represent, protect and defend this nation, to them , it's more like 'suggestions' than an actual oath.

Doesnt matter. They have to know the punishment exists and will be exacted swiftly.

If things go the way they should it should also have fewer House and Senate members after the sedition purge.

"The United States will emerge from the Trump era gutted financially, institutionally, structurally, morally, and ethically."

FTFY.

The ruling Party is within a few elections of creating a one-party state. They will be fine. America not so much.

Unless Republicans keep doing things to unite them.  Democrats were all ready to settle into post election self recrimination and cross party blame, then this shiat comes along, and suddenly we have a united party again.  Democrats might actually get something done if Republicans keep forcing them to work together, and I doubt anything else could have accomplished it so easily.

Dem Party's sad 2020 underperformance across the nation is the bitter pill that people keep refusing to take.  It's not going away.  Take the damn pill and don't fark up again in 2030.

It's a start

And with a majority of state houses in a census year (yay more gerrymandering) where questions about immigration status reduced the numbers in liberal districts.

They'll be fine.

I call BS. The Republican Party has an endless supply of Trump wannabes, hate-filled sycophantic followers detached from reality, and 1%ers who will donate dark money. The new boss will be the same as the old boss.

Democrats need to start grabbing power like Republicans do. It's justified, and it's better for the country. They keep trying to "play fair" while letting the other side cheat and rig the rules.

Is there any hope that they won't emerge and will stay buried in burrows?

Now we have to completely drive them out of power - state and local stuff too.  It will likely take a couple of decades to clean the stank of Trump off everything.

Everything Trump touches, dies.
