Intel should be on 3nm sometime around the year 2112 if current trends continue.

Forgive my ignorance but do they even have competitors other than Intel, at least for advanced chips?

Samsung also has fabrication plants on a more advanced process node than Intel.

One interpretation of the news that TSMC is building another massive Fab is that Intel is going to start using TSMC's services, as has been rumored.

Yeah, Intel is so far behind they don't even really count as a competitor to TSMC.  Samsung is the only real competition.
