Oh my god, he uses legal marijuana.

Now we've figured out what is REALLY causing these GOD FEARING PATRIOTS to act this way.

Devil grass.

Look if you name your kid Cleveland Grover Meredith Jr.  you've really limited his career options.  basically he's down to pedophile or serial killer.  this one is on you mom and dad.

It seems every story needs to be greened at least three times if it is connected to the insurrection.

As soon as I read he came from Colorado, legal access to 420 was the first thing on my mind because I don't live in a legal state.

Why is someone who is mentally unstable allowed  to purchase guns? Thanks NRA and GOP.

Actually, mentally unstable people aren't supposed to get permission to own a gun. The background check asks this very question on the form. Also if you go for a weapons permit they ask the same question.

The issue here there's no enforcement to prove one is not mentally unstable or stable when filling out the form.

His mental illness came from his parents. And if our government at all gave a damn about it's citizens there would be readily available aid for people suffering from mental illness.

He arrived in Washington late on Jan. 6, and in a text message the next day, wrote that he wanted to "put a bullet in (Pelosi's) noggin," among a variety of other threats

Meredith also threatened to behead people, texting on Jan. 6 that he was, "Ready to remove several craniums from shoulders,"

So being a mainstream Republican is a crime now? Welcome to Biden's AmeriKKKa.

Apparently Cleve here is a Georgia native, you guys can have him back after his time in the pokey.

I wonder if these guys can ever recover when guns are their whole lives; saving for the next gun, making your whole personality about carrying your gun around,  and then their ability to own even one is taken away.

Didn't I read somewhere that the NRA succeeded in getting it made illegal to enforce existing gun laws?  Might have been at a state level, not Federal.

Anyone know if this is true, or just my memory continuing to troll me?

Well, I seriously doubt he'll be doing bong hits in prison so I would assume he'll be high strung for a long time coming...

Dinodork: Meanwhile us in Colorado think the pot shops are for tourists.

I knew it. Coloradians take it for granted. Any time they want, they can walk down to the corner shop and get high legally whereas I who live in a non legal state has to get it under the table, and with covid and whatnot and just moving here, I haven't met any connections and have been dry for too long of a time.

My only hope is now with a Dem heavy senate/house they legalize it nationally or at least in my state.

fingers crossed.

I have a bad feeling that if the inauguration takes place outdoors the perimeter they establish won't be big enough to prevent sniper fire.  Too many of these nut-cases have powerful rifles with powerful scopes on them.  There is very little to stop them from setting up a few hundred yards away...

Moving the inauguration indoors seems to be a necessity for controlling the scene....

shiat, Stek, it wasn't all that long ago that Georgia allowed alcohol sales in stores on Sundays.  2009 or so.  It will probably be legal on a federal level before our state legalizes it, and even then I'm not so sure.

All I know is it sucks being addicted to something I can't get.

I read something in the Atlanta paper last month that gave me hope. It mentioned if the dems take over there's a good chance it would be put on the table to make it legal. I also understand there are some parts of Atlanta where the cops "wink a blind eye" and it's "permitted" for lack of a better term and that if caught with a certain amount, it's just a ticket, not a jail term.

I really want to be optimistic here.

Nah.  The Secret Service, combined with all of the other law enforcement and National Guard, will ensure no bad guys with rifles will be anywhere that they can take such a shot.  What is the number up to for the NG alone, 20,000?  That's a LOT of eyes.  There are a finite number of places that would have a clear line of sight and the Secret Service knows all of them..

at the same token, I bet there will be lots of undercovers out there scoping the secluded areas and looking for people with rifles, etc.

No one wants another JFK event to happen  and perhaps law enforcement learned a few things from 1963...

Any budget hunting setup can hit a couple hundred yards all day long. It's not the gear it's the skill and long range shooting is very hard to do. These army dress up guys aren't practicing long range shooting anyway they are all practicing clearing buildings and Delta Force type hostage rescue. You don't cover your rifle in flashlights and red dot sights if you are planning on shooting anything more than 50 yards away.

For a while several counties stopped bothering with small amount of weed (like an ounce) due to hemp becoming legal (or however that hemp thing worked).  It had to do with their field tests only indicating the presence of THC and not the amount so any half assed lawyer could get a weed case thrown out.  I've not confirmed it (because I really don't care) but have been told police now have test kits that can determine levels of THC.

Regardless, I know a fair number of law enforcement and not a single one would arrest someone over small amounts of weed...unless you're an asshole to them, in which case all bets are off.

More then likely due to the fact that CBD flower looks a lot like pot and anyone can say "But officer, this is CBD!"

then the cop takes out the test kit and says...."bullshiat"

yes, if one is polite and honest with a police officer, depending on the small amount and there's no guns in the car, they will usually let you off with a warning.

It is 100% due to the legalization of hemp farming.  And I was mistaken about it being field tests, it was police LAB testing (those poor dogs, lol).

I have a friend in the US who has 3 generations of family members who have served in the secret service. We've talked about this, and yeah, they KNOW exactly what they are doing. Your attempted coup only went
as far as it did because of the rank and file cops, in her (pretty well informed) opinion.
