If they weren't meant to eat they would have been called parsleyworms instead of mealworms.

They're only called "mealworms" if they're from the Valle de Meal region of France.  Otherwise, they're just sparkling white goo worms.

Blend/grind them up well enough so that I can't identify a bug in it, and I will eat the buggy food product without hesitation.

I don't remember it obviously, but my mother told me when I was a toddler, I once ate a spider.
Don't know if it's true but I can't think of a reason to make that up. Still makes me shiver thinking about it.
