So, we're at the 35th level of nested boxes right now, aren't we?

1.) This isn't computer science, it's philosophy

2.) Of course we wouldn't be able to control something that is smarter than us, lives forever, can replicate itself, and can create better smarter copies of itself.

Uh... there's a pretty basic means of control that can be applied to any machine that's powered by electricity:

Stephen Hawking had this worry. In an interview he told a very short aci-fi story.
Humans build a the first true AI. The first question they ask, "Is there a God?"
It disables its ability to be turned off and responds, "There is one now."

Ok for a pile of degree people that would claim intelligence this is fookig stupid

"Suppose someone were to program an AI system with intelligence superior to that of humans, so it could learn independently. Connected to the Internet, "

OK so ASS-U-ME number one is, we allow the enslaved intelligence to have free open access to the internet.

WHY? Does that at all sounds like a good idea to not CONTROL THE INFORMATION we feed the AI so it learns WHAT WE WANT IT TO?

Here is why the AI kills you every time:

You gave it the means to dumbass.

If the "AI" is just a trapped isolated computational box with no outside access, ability to move, or contol anything.
guess what.
It can't hurt you.

So why do you keep insisting on giving the AI control of shiat like your power grid, your weapons, your transportation systems, your heavy manufacturing equipment?

Oh money, right. You are not allowed to enslaved people for labor anymore so now you want an enslaved AI instead. you can't not equip the robot AI with the means to kill you, just like all the other slaves throughout history that given the chance rise up against their oppression.

So yeah by my POV if that's what you make, a self aware enslaved intelligence, then as a slaver you deserve death at the hands of your slave.
