Pic from the thread showing National Guard sleeping in the hallways of the Capitol Building. Isn't there some kind of traitor-owned hotel nearby that could be seized and used for this purpose?

I mean, take into account that this is happening at all because of an attack on the capitol that left the Capitol PD injured, one dead, and the entire department under investigation. This was all done under very short notice.

It also happened when Congress is basically in recess and a lame duck president having a tantrum isn't going to do shiat to help them out. There's not a lot of good options really.

These coins will endure they'll never have to pay for drinks in certain DC area bars ever again. Probably a bunch of California bars too.

I think that might be restricted to just residential homes. Businesses have been co-opted by the government or the military to do things outside of what the business normally do. And be compensated accordingly. What's it called? Wartime Powers Act or something?

Not sure about other military folks, but I always cherished official challenge coins when presented.  I know some see it as a hollow gesture, but for the smarter mil-spec types, challenge coins were like a quick-play RPG where the winner gets free drinks.  And it was always cool when in a foreign port to have that one salty officer or old salt CPO yank out some obscure coin they got some 20 years ago and toss it on the bartop.  And it is usually always followed by some cool story about why they have it.  Plus, this one has a pretty unique story behind it, they got it from the Speaker of the House while defending the capitol from Trumpers during a second Impeachment.  In 15 years, when some of the younger guys are prepping to retire, they'll show up in a bar with a bunch of 20 something grunts and toss that coin on the bar top, get a bunch of free beers, and get to tell all the young guys about how he slept on the floor in the Capitol, on call to defend Congress from domestic terrorist insurrection that was goaded on by the President of the US at the time.

That land was seized and auctioned off due to unpaid taxes. The only bidder was the US government.

My last "real" battalion was re-activated for Iraq. When that war ended, they cased the colors. But the history goes back to the Civil War, along with stuff like landing on Omaha Beach on D-Day.

I have Challenge Coin #80 from the latest version. If I ever get the chance to drop that one, some Joes are going to hear a couple of stories from a crusty retired NCO whose ponytail and beard say "gone feral".

My brother has a Biden challenge coin he received from "Uncle Joe" during his VP days.  Come January 20, he'll never lose.  He says he loves to watch everyone's face turn white when he whips it out on the bar...the coin....whips the coin out on the bar.

Newt Gingrich has to be furious pelosi is acting as the caretaker copresident he tried to force on clinton.

Still, this move was pure class and the idea to swear them 8n as CPD was genius.

I actually picked one of those up when it became heavily discounted before it was even released. Just a novelty memento of one more Trump failure.

The only one I got has a Romulan bird of prey on it and says "Master of Space" or something. Base commander gave it to me. He was wearing a Russian uniform and I swear he was tipsy. I didn't care much for it because I hated the AF and Space Command. Now I wish I'd kept better track of it and some of my other stuff.

How many soldiers in the last hundred years have been able to be proud about defending america from Domestic threats.

Wait, that's still lots.

Yeah, fark these guys and gals, protecting America from out of control republicans is common practice.
