Too bad I didn't have the cash to go long on ZOM. I was there to see it dip to .065 and knew that was rock bottom.

That's what I said when I bought Blackberry at $8

My Robinhood trading method is to day trade bulk shipping and ship holding companies. Rarely are they over $1-$2, split often to keep the price under $1, and have decent volatility.

I doubled my $100 play money investment in two years.

How much DD did you do and how long had you been watching? ZOM was one I monitored daily for months up to that point. It hit .065 for a few seconds and shot right back up to .07 and kept climbing.

/ZOM has treated me very well, it's been my second-most profitable ticker
//there's a lot more room to fall from $8 than 7 cents...

This would have been 2012ish.  They took that big fall then stabilized around $60ish for a good while and then fell off the cliff again.  I figured they'd bounce back up into the 20's.  They had announced a new something or other (software maybe can't remember) that was coming out the following year so I thought it had to lift them somewhat....nope.  I still have it as a reminder sitting in there somewhere around 6 or 7

Ohh wow, I see what you mean now! I checked the 5yr chart on yahoo earlier where it was pretty much flat. That's a mighty sharp knife! ZOM didn't so much fall off a cliff at the end, but rather slid down in a pretty linear fashion for a while, after they changed their name with the SEC. At that point pretty much the only ones interested were algorithms and po' folk like me. I'd already made ok money several times swinging it before the name change so I kept it on my watchlist.

It's a shame that didn't work out for you. Now that I see that far back it really doesn't inspire confidence in me going forward. I made a small play a month of so ago on it after it was announced that they were getting in with Amazon on something. Went nowhere, and it's still nowhere.

Of course I'm trading for capital accumulation right now with risky tickers like ZOM. I know that gravy train will come to a halt at some point but I need a foothold to keep leveling up. I haven't even thought about non-dividend stocks for long term plays yet.

They look like they are doing mighty well! What's been going on in that space? Getting in on the electric tractor game?

Psychohazard: I keep QS on my ticker just as a warning to myself.

Fomoed into that one? I bought in about $60 and wasn't patient enough. I fomoed CBAT at a a pretty good price (I think I was up +25% in afterhours), but then didn't bail soon enough after short-seller FUD got spread about it. Kept holding red day after red day, losing %25. Poof, gone. That was a pretty rough blow.

I do believe in Quantumscape's tech though. It's a 5 year play at the least because manufactures will let their contracts expire before they'll buy these batteries, so there's not gonna be lots of revenue for a while. But its solid in my book! They need to start delivering to customers to prove the tech and work any engineering bugs out before large manufacturers even think about putting them in cars. Tesla will probably be the first, or maybe Apple will beat them to the punch?

CBAT has the same problem. They say they were able to increase the energy density of batteries by %25 using existing manufacturing methods. They wound up selling a bunch to Kandi, who in turn warehoused them for who knows what reason. I don't believe the FUD, and they got the wrong target.

Lol, anyone following GME? Reddit won.

People can talk all the shiat they want about penny stocks, but there is good money in it.  I'm already up 50% just trading pennies this month.  I don't get caught up in the FOMO and that is probably the best thing I have going.
