Hits to President Donald Trump's business empire since the deadly riots at the U.S. Capitol are part of a liberal "cancel culture," his son, Eric, told The Associated Press on Tuesday, saying his father will leave the presidency with a powerful brand backed by millions of voters who will follow him "to the ends of the Earth."

If the Trumps owned a football team
We have the best fans but it's not fair  that there are fans who root for other teams. Every fan should have to support our team

I wonder if he is rethinking about his decision to divest.  If he did, someone else would be taking the hit on Trump properties all his money would be in a blind trust.

//I guess you would have to think to be able to rethink
//The answer is no, he never rethinks anything.

They seem to really love the free hand of the market until it slaps them across the face.

THE TRUMPS WANTED TO CANCEL A PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION. They're cancelled.

2021-01-13 11:59:46 AM
Nobody wants to do legitimate business with them and all the shady people that were laundering money with them won't want a microscope up their ass now either. The Trump's are a little screwed at this point.

You guys should feel ashamed. Eric might have to go get a real job....after the prison sentence

In the US, subs. Usually they are all good with coups outside of it. Case in point: Elon Musk:

"We will coup whoever we want! Deal with it." was Elon Musk's response to an accusation on twitter that the U.S. government organized a coup against President Evo Morales, so that Musk could obtain Bolivia's lithium.

Any person that does business with the Trump family is a supporter of domestic terrorism. It's no different than doing business with ISIS. A terrorist is a terrorist.

2021-01-13 2:52:16 PM
So not offering support to terrorists is now cancel culture?

Color me shocked.

2021-01-13 2:52:46 PM
Honest question: why do we use the phrase "cancel culture" rather than the well-established "ostracism" or "shunning"?

2021-01-13 2:52:50 PM
Oh good, not Don Jr. is talking again.

I can't wait for noon on the 20th. I hope that as soon as Biden is sworn in, there will be a flood of charges coming in from around the country against Trump and his shiatty children for what they did this past four years. An absolute monsoon of charges and lawsuits for their farkery. They'll be so buried in legal filings that the only lawyer who won't treat them like a colony of lepers is Giuliani. If he's even still a lawyer by then, of course.

2021-01-13 2:53:19 PM
I love cancel culture. I've been trying to buy a work truck for a couple months and every time I find one I like it's owned by some Trump asshole. I'm not gonna give them my money, I'm not gonna hire them, and if any of them that work for me do a bunch of racist or treasonous shiat I'm gonna fire them.

2021-01-13 2:53:24 PM
When people complain about "cancel culture" what I hear is "I feel like I shouldn't face any consequences for my actions".

2021-01-13 2:53:53 PM
"Have some backbone. Show some fight. Learn from Donald Trump," Eric Trump said before urging them to "march on the Capitol."

Asked directly in his interview if he felt his father incited the crowd, Eric Trump paused and then the line went dead.

LOL who's the coward now b*tch??????

Cancel culture isn't really a thing - they just think you're bad, toxic business. Enjoy.

And potentially most troubling of all, several banks, including one of his biggest lenders, Deutsche Bank, have reportedly said they would no longer lend to Trump's company, raising the prospect that the president may have to dig into his own pockets to pay off his loans if he can't refinance.

Note this.  He's been shuffling his debts - taking out new credit cards and doing balance transfers, then running back up the old cards.  He's going to be giving his kids a company loaded with debt.

I'm sorry was it cancel culture when the W Bush administration was freezing terrorist bank accounts?

No?

Then you get to shut up about terrorist Republicans being defunded and deplatformed before your bank accounts get frozen too.

Don't worry about them. There will be plenty of nonunion coal jobs for them.

kpaxoid: Honest question: why do we use the phrase "cancel culture" rather than the well-established "ostracism" or "shunning"?

It's a dumb buzzword. It's the new "political correctness".

Whatever makes the right feel victimized.

LovesToSpooge: Any person that does business with the Trump family is a supporter of domestic terrorism. It's no different than doing business with ISIS. A terrorist is a terrorist.

But there is a difference.

"You can't indict a sitting President".

"You can impeach a sitting President, but it only counts if your cultists in the Senate don't support you".

Because of the preceding, a President is allowed to be a terrorist.

And on this level, there's no difference between Bin Laden and Trump.  Both instructed their followers to do their dirty work.

\OK, well, yeah, Bin Laden was taller

You tried to overthrow the American government.  Losing a few corporate sponsorships is the least that should happen.

These people are lucky they haven't had their accounts frozen yet.

It better be coming

It's not cancel culture it's the free market at work, it's freedom of association at work.

Get f*cked Trump trash.

Love the last sentence of the story:

"Asked directly in his interview if he felt his father incited the crowd, Eric Trump paused and then the line went dead."

I do sometimes wonder if being THAT blind to hypocrisy is fun.

Wail and gnash your teeth mother f*ckers.

No one gives a sh*t anymore.  You're probably all going to jail.

It's called the free market, asshole.  Unless you're trying to argue that people should be forced to do business with you, and that's not a stance that you should be taking as a Republican.

Spending money, or not spending it, is free speech as any good conservative knows.

Free speech, MF!

Because snowflakes get upset when they piss in the wind and it comes back at them so they came up with that weak shiat to whine about.

2021-01-13 2:58:46 PM
A Trump never accepts blame. Everything is someone else's fault.

"It's your fault for canceling me just because I crossed a serious line."

kpaxoid: Honest question: why do we use the phrase "cancel culture" rather than the well-established "ostracism" or "shunning"?

"We" dont. The right says "cancel culture" to paint it as 'the group is oppressing me for no good reason', whereas ostracism and shunning imply punishment for wrongdoing. They 'never did anything wrong', you see.

The right wing coins phrases that make ordinary things sound terrible. "Deep State"? It's just a scare term for government bureaucracy

Bin Laden had also been an actual mujahedeen fighter in Afghanistan during the 80s, when the CIA turned west Pakistan into a big terrorist training camp for disaffected Muslims.

Just like all these other comparisons, Trump can't walk the walk like the thugs he admires.

No Eric, it's not cancel culture, it's your dad is an asshole and people don't like him

kpaxoid: Honest question: why do we use the phrase "cancel culture" rather than the well-established "ostracism" or "shunning"?

Because Republicans have no idea what ostracism or shunning means.  They haven't had pundits on Fox telling them that those words are bad day after day, so those words are gibberish to them.  If it's not some idiotic phrase that means nothing invented by their puppet-masters, it might as well be Greek to them.

They would have started rebranding two years ago. They'd be doing just fine without his toxic name still attached.

This reminds me of the time I robbed that bank. As the police were taking me out in cuffs, I asked the teller if she could break a 20. She just gave me a dirty look.

A dirty look... of cancellation. So much for the tolerant robbery victims. *shakes head*
