So FOX on every TV?

I thought this was a joke in reference to the Missing Plane News Network. I didn't know it was actually a thing.

I guess it's back to those coin-op TVs on each chair.

I hope the replacement is the Gorilla Channel. Would be better than any daytime talk show or soap opera.

If CNN is fake news then a CNN Airport is a fake airport.  A news channel that only plays in fake airports doesn't seem like a financially viable proposition.

Wonderful...the last time I was at an airport it was CNN or Fox News on all the tvs

I take that back. There was this weird channel that just showed random, three letter codes with numbers that looked like time stamps. I never sat down to try and figure out the code on that tv

Always loved that channel: the subtitles are off and the place is too noisy to hear anything.

I miss HLN showing its USA Today version of news, slowly changing over 24 hours to keep up on news. It's wasn't just talking heads. Now it seems to be just girly crap. (If all y'all can call stuff gay, I can say girly crap.)

In some airports they actually had the speakers on and so if you were sitting in the waiting area you were stuck listening to CNN-airport. It was so annoying that I started carrying the big noise canceling headphones even on short flights.

glad it is gone

Huh, I sit near the bar and watch sports or ESPN.

Or The Weather Channel, in some airports.  I suppose they could carry regular CNN.

Huh.  As a very frequent traveler, I remember watching CNN Airport in Austin, TX airport (AUS) on 9/11.  Yes, that 9/11.  I remember being very surprised that they were indeed showing a picture of what looked like some kind of a plane crash, but being that I wasn't really paying attention, it didn't sink in for some time what exactly I was watching.

That was all pre-iPhone, so not like I was staring at my phone, but even on that day there were apparently better things to do than watch CNN Airport... but staring up at the soundless monitor trying to figure out why they were showing us a picture of a plane hitting a building while I was about to get on a plane is still seared in my memory.

Didn't end up flying that day, for some reason...

I feel like you hang around kids a lot.

Saying 9/11 was pre-iphone (by 7 years) is like saying Bush was elected, pre-Obama.

Oh god, today's kids will be raised by smartphones in 6 more years when they start to hit 18. I get to be like my grandparents who say they grew up without T.V. and listened to the radio.

Maybe I can relate to the kids who grew up poor. Just razor phones or whatever cheap $200 garbage phones and a used tablet.

I have you know you can buy a pretty powerful still new in the box two year old android phone for $200.  Same phone that cost almost $500 for when it was first released.

I was never a big fan of Ted Turner, but CNN went in the crapper after they forced him out.  Shame.  Headline News was the TV equivalent of a good news radio station.

Maybe the airports will all switch to those semi-staged real estate shows with plastic production style where a suspicious couple with a budget of $200,000 and no idea what they're doing remodels a half-million-dollar house and makes it much, much worse.  Doctors' offices seem to do OK with those shows, and they're more informative than FOX.

How?  Back when I was going to the gym pre-Covid, all thet seemed to do was talk about Trump 24x7.

Fortunately YouTube on my phone exists.

It's actually a thing, and I remember being between flights in St. Louis, hearing it from the TVs in the empty concourse where TWA flights once docked. When AA consumed TWA, STL lost a lot of traffic.

HGTV, like all the doctor offices.
