"disciplined in accordance with their collective bargaining agreement pending an investigation" huh?

That sounds rough, ya think?  The union will probably only cover 80% of his usual pay, and it'll take a good 2 or 3 years before their negotiators somehow get him reinstated.

?

My union doesn't "cover pay" for members out on disciplinary suspensions. We have an emergency fund that pays to help when someone's spouse gets cancer and can't work or whatever, but nothing like you seem to be implying.

The simplest way for the employer to fire him would be to ignore the sedition and not suspend him. Let him burn his whatever vacation time he has on the books while in custody (if he has any left, seeing as how he abused his sick time to go be a revolutionary) then hit him for being a no-show. By suspending him, you're giving him the time off to deal with his immediate problem. Firing him immediately is easier to pull off if you just play dumb - "well, third day in a row Pepe's a no-call, no-show. He's gone."

B. Wanted to overthrow democracy?

Yeah. And he was earning 75k a year.

Thats a liveable salery, even in USA, isn't it?

If his job did have health I mean. 40 hours a week, he'd be earning 36USD per hour.
