I pay $400 a. year for my subscription to the Cedar Rapids Gazette; my sorta wife pays a chunk (I don't know the exact amount right now) to subscribe to Art Cullen's Storm Lake Times; the piddly amount I pay for the WAPO web site is a deal as far as I'm concerned, and I've given my log-in to a few selected folks.

My sympathies to you if you are too financially hurtin' to afford the WAPO; but don't complaint, there are free news sites all over the place, even fark.

Also, might I suggest (might get a 24 hour time out again for this) that if you are really hurtin' financially fark is not the best place for you to be spending your time.  If you work two shifts at the local McD's at $15 an hour you end up making $30 an hour.  Better use of your time.

Also, might have considered a different major than philosophy, art history or fear and loathing in the modern world.

Sorry I'm a bit of a broken record right now. But please stop differentiating between "Trumpkins" and "Republicans."

Trump is the head of the republican party. And during the insurrection, Republican leaders were pursuing the same goals as the mob, but from the floor of both houses of Congress.

This is not an isolated incident of a few outlying crazies. This stemmed from the party as a whole. These people aren't going to change their tune Jan 21.

Honey... most criminals feel a lot of regret after being caught...

The regret tends to be about being caught, not about what you did. If you did regret your actions, you would've admitted this BEFORE they had security footage of you inside.

But you didn't... and you're likely still going to jail. Be sorry all you like now, you and hundreds of others are going through the same. And you're all equally stupid.

I can't imagine you getting a timeout for this but you will get lambasted for being such a bootstrappy douchebag during the worst employment crisis since the Great Depression. You aren't impacted  so obviously no one should have an issue, right?

Fark this whole thing is playing on my forgiveness vibes.

I hate all these people, if I could find a way they would all die in a strange accidental occurance.

But ... and I hate myself for this ... most these people were just morans, but a lot of them were not just that.

A heap were dangerous nutjobs that need to be dealt with, and ever so more of them are still out there to be dealt with.

Arrest them all, and then let us read all their online comments and decide which ones were dangerous, and which ones were just straight up stupid.  Mind you anyone who voted GOP is, by definition STUPID!!!

I can't even at all with much of this but I make 13 dollars an hour not at McDonald's which I think around here pays only around 10, but I do have a nice apartment and okay car, a wee bit of savings, and a few streaming services, plus subscriptions to NYT, The New Yorker, and Fark (tend to pay for stuff annually to get better deals,) so while I won't complain about WaPo, The Atlantic, USA Today and others being linked to here, I imagine you don't expect us all to subscribe to every one of them,

And as many of us do pay to support this site, it can't be such a crime to want to discuss, at least pretty often, articles accessible by all. Not a millennial, but step off, cranky Boomer, I guess.
