Huh. It'll take me about 6 hours. Maybe that explains the complaints from the neighbours?

Looks like they have a serious anti-vax problem there too.

Yeah it's pretty freaky. We've got 250k+ at this point and just 20km over thataway, they have less than 1k on the other side of the river.

Yes, the analogy is misleading and makes good click-bait.  But, the fact remains, governments had 10 months to devise an efficient distribution plan.  Remember when Walmart delivered more water & food to Katrina victims than FEMA?  "Things take time to get started" is not an excuse

And just add it to food stuff, so we'll get those anti vaxxers as well, even if they're not doing drugs.

Well, there's your problem

According to the Department of Health and Human Services' fact sheet, the main stated goal of Operation Warp Speed is to "produce and deliver 300 million doses of safe and effective vaccines with the initial doses available by January 2021"

When was the last time you government delivered on a promise of this scale?

No.

I am implying that France is not the continent of Europe, thus assuming what France does, equals the status of a continent as a whole.

When other nations of the same continent is mentioned, doing so is especially moronic.

Three months ago: "We'll distribute and apply 40 million vaccines!"
One month ago: "We'll hopefully distribute and apply 20 million vaccines!"
Yesterday: "'There is a gap' between what we said and the 4.8 million vaccines we've managed to apply so far. Whoopsie!"

It's not even that it takes time, or that we're extrapolating too early to establish a trend. They simply lied.

That link has the Washington Post's live, current breakdown of COVID-19 distribution & application by state. It's goddamned pathetic. Even my state (WA), which has done a hell of a job so far getting the actuality to match the stated priority, is still a hell of a long way away from "getting enough folks vaccinated to establish general immunity among the state's population," and quite a few states are so much farking farther away from even that.

It really will be fine. I'm optimistic about getting my vaccine by mid year, hopefully earlier. And I'm last tier. Once things start moving (and they are) they will move fast.

I've never heard of any European who didn't consider the UK a part of Europe, it's the other way around, which is very common.

I don't think he's right about anything, since it would be foolhearty to assume one posting such a meme to have any knowledge on the matter.

The only vaccine that has been validated in the EU is the BioNTech one btw., I expect that once Moderna gets the get go in a few days, USA will find itself quickly overtaken.

With USA and the UK having a headstart, they ought to be ahead. France on the other hand has no real excuse.

Russia also looks a bit suspect, another European nation btw., since they started way earlier than everyone else, why are they only at 0.55%?

https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/covid-vaccination-doses-per-capita?tab=chart&stackMode=absolute&time=latest..latest

Is a fun tool to play with. I'm from Denmark btw., and from the news I hear, it's strictly a question of availability. So when Moderna is approved, and Pfizer increases production of the BioNTech one, it will really go fast.
