Marcus Aurelius: They haven't solved it.  What they've done is taught AI how to think funny.  Which as we all know is dangerous.


So wait, right now did they or didn't they figure this out?

I solved it this morning for the ground state of a harmonic oscillator. Straightforward.

Things like this are why I really hate not being able to fully grok high level math.


Things like that are why people should take a moment to look at their google search results rather than blindly posting a link to the first result on the list.  Just a wikipedia link would have sufficed to demonstrate the basic math in human readable form.

At that level, its all Greek. Well, mostly Greek with a bit of Latin numerals. Legendre Polynomials give me flashbacks to graduate school.
