The last line of strife and bigotry between Catholics and Protestants (mom is Catholic, dad is/was Presbyterian) is which whiskey to drink on St. Patrick's, and we're definitely a Jameson household. Even though my mom is Italian Catholic, not Irish Catholic.

I did a (mostly) dry December. It's not all that, so I'm planning to sot it up for January.

Irish is my 3rd or 4th favorite style of whiskey, but I like Black Bush quite a lot.

Even free whiskey isn't going to get me into a bar any time soon, though.

What a win for everyone involved.

Bushmills will cover the cost of a glass of whiskey from your local pub or bar of choice. When the time is right, of course.

Oh, that imaginary whiskey will go great with the imaginary bar towel.

I hated most bars before pandemic. Poorly made drinks and over priced most of the time. Mrs. August11 is the best barmaid I know.

Has anyone mentioned that the head distiller at Bushmills is Catholic, and that Jameson was, himself, a Protestant?

Offer good if you by from a bar or restaurant between now an March 18.  Somehow, I don't think I'll be taking them up on the offer

That might well be true but in the popular imagination it just doesn't matter. Nothing changes the fact that Bushmills is in the UK and Jameson is in ROI.

At least for Americans, anyway. Long live bullshiat, I guess.

I really like it. Joke's on me though, I swore I'd quit drinking if Trump lost so here's to Dry January and beyond.
