I'm glad he died so young and we didn't have to see what else he could have achieved with his poor judgement and impulse control. The house full of stolen items was a nice touch as well clearly society itself dodged a bullet even if this genius did not.

Five out of six people consider russian roulette to be a safe activity.

Or you can just click the link. You dont even need to read the actual article to find this part:

The teen died back in October after he was found unresponsive at a home in Burton. Police provided an update on the case due to a "large amount of public interest."

Also, most likely this is the case of a burglar screwing with a stolen revolver. being stolen, he probably didn't know that certain revolvers don't fire the cylinder it's on.

The only way to win at Russian Roulette is to not point the gun at yourself but your opponent.

It's a defensive strategy that works.

Not legally, no:

In a 1946 U.S. legal case, Commonwealth v. Malone, 47 A.2d 445 (1946), a Pennsylvaniateenager's conviction for murder in the second degree as a result of shooting a friend was upheld by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. In this case, the teenagers involved played a modified version of Russian roulette, called Russian poker, in which they took turns aiming and pulling the trigger of the revolver at each other, rather than at their own heads. The court ruled that "When an individual commits an act of gross recklessness without regard to the probability that death to another is likely to result, that individual exhibits the state of mind required to uphold a conviction of manslaughter even if the individual did not intend for death to ensue."[5]

We used to play bee bee war/tag. You just tried not to hit the head and wore an extra layer. Then some asshole loaded pellets and started pumping his gun (not a euphemism) too many times and nobody trusted anyone so it fizzled out.

Also, a guy I played football with shot his cousin and tried to claim they were playing Russian roulette. It didn't work and he's in prison. This was the 90s and I can't find a link to the story (not shockingly).

There was a well publicized killing last year or so, where a female cop was killed and the other cops claimed it was a Russian roulette game where they pointed guns at each other.

Try this for a fun game...

Get some friends. Have everyone take some LSD. Go to to an open field.

Have everyone bring blindfolds.

Now, stand in a circle but have everyone facing outwards.

Put on the blindfolds.

Have everyone walk about 20 to 30 steps out into a straight line....

now turn around and the first person to tag someone wins.

The game should last about an hour.

Ha. That actually sounds like something they would've tested in the early gov experimentations with lsd on soldiers. That footage is a riot.

I've still got a bb 3 finger widths above my left ear, just behind the temple.

Lost my helmet behind a log and when I reached over to get it, got popped in the noggin. The guy who got me went on to be 5th Group special forces, so at least I was shot by a green beret ...

A couple of years later I was in a car crash and the doctor (asian) ran in with the x-ray - "You know you have bb in you head?!?"

"Should I have it removed?"

Doctor shrugs "Does it hurt?"

I'm honestly trying to think of where we would have found helmets as kids, even if we were smart enough to consider them.

My neighbor is special forces and we/our kids jokingly exchanged squirt gun fire and some water balloons this summer. I'm way too focused on planning for a post Covid invasion next summer to establish my true dominance on the block.

It's gonna be hilarious how quickly he figures us out and single handedly sabotages us.

It's a true story. My ex drummer in a band I was with played this game as teenagers. When he told me about it, I nearly fell on the floor laughing the way he explained it to me.

I had taken LSD many times and never once thought about playing silly games like that. I was the one who had the Sony Walkman on listening to Pink Floyd.   "Oh my god, David Gilmour plays the perfect notes at the perfect time"

ah...the good ole days...

there is a surgeon here in the twin cities who was a reckless, dangerous teenager before a series of interventions occurred and he learned to choose differently.
personally, i was mostly sad reading a 17 year old died so tragically.

?  Seems like a pretty straightforward opinion to me.  You knew what you were doing could result in death, and you said the hell with it and did it anyway - but without any particular desire or plan to kill.  That's pretty much textbook manslaughter.  If they'd tried to twist it up into depraved indifference that would be a bit harder sell.
