Can't cancel all the games. It would throw off the playoff schedule.

We were talking about this in yesterday's thread. It makes sense, but with the Euros coming in the summer; it will only create even more fixture congestion than already exists.

We could just relegate the Blades already and save ourselves a matchweek.

Also, the UK has moved Merseyside into Tier 3 restrictions so the entire PL will be played behind closed doors starting this weekend.

538 has their odds of relegation at 89%, Wet Broom at 92%.

We all knew this would happen. It would have been wise to build into the schedule a real winter break but the late start, the decision to play a normal season and the pressure to finish in time for the Euros make such a break impossible without cancelling some matches or having a very congested March and April schedule.

Speaking of abominable campaigns, Valencia finish off 2020 only out of the relegation zone on goal difference.

And the Lims still want to sell off players to pay themselves back.

The easiest solution would've been to cancel the League Cup for the year. It's already a competition teams view as a hindrance.

I agree, but let's be honest. The last competition I remember being scrapped was the Intertoto Cup and that happened because teams were opting out of it.

The League Cup will die when teams opt out and no sooner.

France managed to get rid of their league cup before the pandemic. None of the big five leagues have it anymore and even in England it is only a major trophy for the club that wins it. But Carabou or whatever the fark they are called has a lot of cash so there you go.

Those of us who support lower division clubs generally benefit from League Cup runs, so I wouldn't want to see it go beyond a season or two for Coronavirus management.

Ok, so dumbass shouldn't have had his arm out asking for help in the box.

And Poch should have started Moura.

I think the best thing to do for the League Cup would be to allow teams who have qualified for Europe to opt out of the tournament. They already get to join it late, but it would be better to just let them avoid it completely. You'd still see 13-14 PL teams participating so it wouldn't be a total loss for the Cup.

You'd have the PL cup-participant teams complain about the others having a rest advantage.

Butterfly effect. Without that first goal that ugly ass game would have played out differently.

Maybe Pool win 3-0. Who knows. It really was just unwatchable. Mou would have been proud of the game Klopp managed.
