So instead of just being floating hotels they are becoming floating amusement parks as well.

hmph, I sailed on the Mardi Gras when I was a kid.  Guess they're recycling the name.  Shot clays off the back of the boat.  My how things have changed...

Ship costs less than a billion dollars.  Top of the line, one of the biggest passenger ships in the world.  The complexity of the engineering is staggering.  And still it costs half as much as a football field surrounded by bleachers.

I'm done with cruises. They were a fun way to sample destinations, but cruises are over-priced, the food is mediocre, and the excursions are set up so you never get to interact with the local cultures.
