Good morning farkers!

Christmas on my own was kinda rubbish, but hey, football!

Winter storm Bella is moving in in the UK right now, very strong winds. Probably doesn't affect the earlier games but will wreak havoc with the evening ones.

Hello all.
Hope you're shaking off the hangovers okay.
Looks like Jesus & Walker have got the rona & won't feature this week.
Usual summary of last week here
And Mighty Mike stayed top for xmas

And he's first up this weekend . Attwell gets to put his feet up but Tierney & Oliver could leap frog him if they try hard enough & with Arsenal's current affection for red cards, Oliver could be onto a winner.

Arteta did an interview this morning where he's suggested if Arsenal don't start picking up points this week they're definitely in the relegation battle.

An Arsenal manager talking about relegation! That's not happened in my lifetime I think.

I get why he's done it, he's trying to get his players to realise that their complete indifference to actually playing is going to hit them hard. But man...

Rashers almost in already

Oh rashers, you really should be hitting the target at least there.

Leicester look like they're still carrying around a few pounds of turkey. No pace.

De Gea almost horses things up already

And apparently hurt. Henderson warming up

Come on Mike, throw a couple reds ManU's way.

2020-12-26 7:44:24 AM
Morning all. As usual, I have no idea which Utd team will show up.

And it looks like Leicester have learned the lesson from everybody else who has played at home to Utd this season, and are being careful not to score first.

Can we call the City v Newcastle game this evening the Coronabowl, or is that too tasteless?

2020-12-26 7:49:34 AM
Fernandes got away with one there

Decent acting by Tielemans.

More panto season than Oscar bait, I think

Good save by....*checks notes*.. Harvey Barnes

2020-12-26 7:52:51 AM
So this one sees the return of something I've never understood: short sleeves with gloves.

2020-12-26 7:53:04 AM
Rashers!

Awful defending

2020-12-26 7:53:11 AM
seeing eye pass that

That make no sense to me.

2020-12-26 7:53:44 AM
That'll be a load off for Rashford

2020-12-26 7:54:36 AM
The question now is, have Man Utd made a huge mistake by going ahead away from home?

2020-12-26 7:54:45 AM
Fortunate touch by Fernandes leaves Rashford wide open in front of goal.
0-1

It's to protect their expensive manicures I think

They should get their heads manicured then.

1-1

Same reasons they overpaid for a long string of high profile names who turned out to be overpriced underachievers.

It's probably only a matter of time before he goes elsewhere and blossoms.

I can't figure them out. Arteta started and I thought organized the defense pretty well. Mustafi and Luiz, while they might not ever be mistake for elite defenders, actually stopped making mistakes. We picked up Gabriel and Partey and looked miles better at the back. Not flowing the way Arsenal teams used to, but still organized. Then suddenly Arsenal forgot how to score. And the discipline went with it.

I'm not one of those gooners that thinks the sky is falling. With the exception of the shock Villa loss, most of the losses have been one-goal losses, often the result of an error. Errors happen, but these led to goals, which is unfortunate. Arsenal is playing poorly, but not as poorly as the loss column shows. Fewer mistakes at the back and things change.

See also Bailly, James, Shaw, Fred, and depending on what day of the week it is, possibly Martial just among those in today's starting eleven. You could probably add two or three from the bench too, although I feel we haven't been quite disappointed enough by them yet.

How Utd are third - potentially second with their game in hand over Leicester - is a bit of a mystery, and perhaps says more about the rest of the division this year than it does about Utd

Stupid yellow card for Fernandes.
Especially with Mighty Mike on the field.

2020-12-26 8:18:17 AM
Dean decides he can't go the entire half without handing out a card.

2020-12-26 8:21:09 AM
It's already too late to get in on Man Utd - Leicester both teams to score, so here's a parlay for tomorrow:

Liverpool to win (-770) and West Ham - Brighton & Hove Albion, both teams to score (-143). Parlayed together, -109. $10 wins you $19.21.

Three different products in one ad break that are all using the same 'family in Christmas jumpers playing charades over zoom' setup.

My guess: all the creative directors went to the same holiday party, and one of them said, "hey, I have this cute idea for a Christmas ad..."

2020-12-26 8:37:52 AM
Welp, that was spectacularly inept by James: he made the wrong choice, and then failed to execute it, and capped it off by going over weakly while conceding the throw. All very much "on brand" for James.

After the World Cup, Woodward probably thought he was a name that could sell replica shirts.

What was Bailley doing waving his arm about?

That's a ridiculous handball by Bailey.

Oof.

Mike seems to be trying to be Scrooge and is not issuing his gift cards the way we expected him to.

Nice work, Fred.

2020-12-26 8:40:20 AM
Fred picks out Bailey's arm for the hand ball.
On brand for Fred.

Pista: What was Bailley doing waving his arm about?

Telling Fred to play it out to the right. Better question, what is Fred doing playing it that high in a different direction?

Man Utd substitution: James off, any ambulatory human being on.

& instead they bring Pogba on

Rashers with all the time in the world & still hits it at the keeper
