Stupid people + artificial scarcity pricing/availability = this is how free markets work, they are free to exploit every little tiny brain psychological trick that works on middle bell masses.

And the rest of us just get stuck with it.

If they had made an actual remake artificially scarce and not just a port, I might have bought it. As it is, I can play any of those three games on my wiiu.

Also to pull it before the public feels that they need to discount it, and then can put together a new package with two some of the ones in this bundle, plus one actually new game that people will need to play full price to buy.

Holy shiat, dude's last name actually is Bowser? I really hope he has a stuffed Princess Peach in a cage in his office.

He keeps a tied up Mario plush on a shelf in his office.

Sorry but the princess is in another office.

Artificial scarcity is the only way to compel modern gamers to enjoy the hard work of fleets of coders and artists in a timely fashion.  Without the FOMO, these cherished gems would languish in your backlog indefinitely.  At least this way, you can realize sooner that one more nostalgic icon is really low res tattered curtains with unnatural tank controls and a game loop designed to waste your time.

Exactly.  I still have my GameCube hooked up.
Give me a remaster, not the same game in new packaging!

The kids got me a Switch for my birthday. I thought it was the coolest thing on the planet until I saw the absolute shiat that they call a "game store".

1. No reviews of any kind. They tell you to "look on other websites".
2. No refund policy if a game with no reviews of any kind sucks.
3. Very few with a demo option.
4. 95% of their games are some kind of anime shiat.

The platform itself is still cool, but the games suck.

Probably 'cause the anime shiat makes just as much as the rest of the platform.  Doesn't help much if you aren't into that, admittedly, but it's big money

It's sad that I know this, but http://dekudeals.com is better than their actual shop.

Wow, that's already easier to navigate. :-)

Wow, that's way better.  The games are actually put in some sort of order on there?  That's such a vast improvement all on its own, even before the filtering.  Doesn't change that they rarely have their first-party stuff on sale (Odyssey right now notwithstanding) and you can get most of the good third-party stuff (though not all) running better on other platforms, but that's Nintendo for you.  Still, I've got that site bookmarked now so I can check there instead of the godawful Deals tab.

I'm curious, are we talking the "anime shiat" that's just kinda cartoon-y JRPGs that are actually games you can dump time into,

or

The "we're slapping a large chested catgirl in lingerie and having a high school student whip up something in a weekend" type?

Because one seems like it could be on track for nintendo, and it's not the second one.

Nintendo's e-shop comes off like Steam's store, minus the porn games.  Really a dumping ground for shovelware with the occasional gem buried in there somewhere.

The switch is a great way to play a lot of excellent indie titles (Hollow Knight, Cuphead, Stardew Valley, Dead Cells, Untitled Goose Game, Into the Breach, Hades, Bastion, Transistor to name but a few) on a big TV from the comfort of your couch. Also the obligatory Nintendo IPs. I don't get why the lack of reviews is a big deal to you though. Clearly you can use the internet, so just take 5 seconds to google a game before you buy it to see what people think. The lack of refunds is a legit gripe tho, and a most game stores are pretty bloated these days with garbage. Demos aren't as common as they used to be either.

Make an account and use the wishlist so you can get emails when it does go on sale. They don't email you about anything else.
