Ah yes, Ray Perkins.

Guy landed the game-changing player of his generation in Lawrence Taylor when he was the Giants HC...and went to Alabama thinking he can climb Mt. Everest instead of potentially being the man who turned the Giants' fortunes around.

Can't feel bad for him.

The man caught passes from Namath, Stabler, and Unitas.  Hell of a playing career.

When they fired Perkins you figured: hell, they can't do any worse than that. They then proceeded to hire Richard Williamson.

Favorite Ray Perkins story is when he broke his hand punching a player. In the head. While the player had his helmet on. (I think it was Ron Heller.)
