Alright, this is what we voted for, so it's time to admit it and deal with it. Biden is a gaffe machine, and we are in for four years of him being a rhetorical minefield.

What he clearly meant was that when he was veep, he and Obama had an agreement where he would make an excuse and walk away if they reached a fundamental impasse on governing philosophy. And it'll be the same with him and Harris.

I know that's what he meant. You know it. His Republican enemies know it. But he walked right into that rake, and now we have to deal with the fallout.

We'd best get used to it, because this is gonna keep happening.

The VP does not serve the president.

Which is why President-Elect Biden should appoint trump as the new VP, a sort of compromise to get the rigged election mess cleared up.

trump would keep the prosecution protections from crimes that he currently has, and as VP no one would care that he was golfing every day. Plus trump could hold weekly rallies across the country for his 2024 Presidential run, making it an historical first time a sitting VP ran against a sitting President in an election.

Moopy Mac: What's the worst that can happen? Still be worshiped as a Demi god despite developing relatively severe Alzheimer's which will be covered up by his administration? And his cult of personality will be co-opted by a reality tv star?

1)  I don't personally know anyone who is worshipping him.  I don't know anyone who worships anything, for that matter, but I'm canadian.  He's a president-elect and a career politician who is an immeasurable improvement over his immediate predecessor.  Globally, I think most sane people are relieved about this.

2)  I don't know if Biden has Alzheimer's.  If he does, you can't reasonably expect him to remain in office, which is what I was getting at in my original post.  For all its flaws and internal strife, the U.S. is not a backwater third-world nation where infirm national leaders are propped up so shadow councils can keep running things status quo.  If he's sick, he'll step aside, and then Harris is there.

3)  There's no doubt that Trump will continue to have a voice once he's out of office, and there's loads of doomsday speculation about how influential his voice will be.  Personally, I hope he loses relevance as quickly as Sarah Palin did.

I'm saying it wasn't a gaffe. He conveyed a clear message; "If there are any disputes between the VP and P, the P has final say. If the VP doesn't like it she can leave, but the President is the boss."

I'd also say that no matter what words he chooses, on any subject he speaks on, his words will be misinterpreted by his enemies in order to exploit those stupid enough not to know better. People who know better shouldn't help them do that.
