"My fear doesn't happen to be the COVID virus but the overreach of national and state officials who believe because of their positions or ego that their opinions are fact," said Charles Fox, a Fredonia veterinarian.

Donovan Hutchinson, the bar owner in nearby Neodesha, said giving in to a mask mandate would lead to further abuses of government power.
"What will they come after next, our guns, our children?" he said."

This dumb-ass state, chocked with dumb-ass people.

We should come for their guns. They have proven they are unfit to wield them.

We should take away their children. They celebrate child abuse, care nothing for health, and support pedophiles for office.

Besides which, these idiots don't use guns for self-defense or hunting, they are merely overcompensating for small penises.

Besides which, these idiots don't value their children as individuals, just as f*ck trophies. If they don't grow up straight, God-fearing republicans or if they lower themselves to date a nonwhite person, watch how fast they disown them.

JFC, Cleetus.  Make sure you kick the shiat off your shoes before you sit down at the dinner table.  You're getting ready to have your picture taken by NPR and you don't think to put on your best, non-shiat covered hoodie?

Math is math.  Places with effective lockdown and mask mandates with real enforcement fared significantly better than we did.  If these assholes are right, then it means America doesn't work.  They are not only wrong, they are a threat to society.

Correct. China has proven that lockdowns and isolation are the only way out of the virus. Masks can slow the spread, but can't stop it - even 100% compliance wouldn't fix this.

A good friend of mine lives a medium-size city in the middle of Kansas. He is seriously immunocompromised due to a pancreatic disease and cannot absorb vitamins C or A very well without some very expensive medications. He has had people grab the mask off his face a number of times in grocery stores and restaurants.

He wants out, but his wife has her whole extended family in the area and won't move until her rather elderly parents are dead.

God I hope so. Your kids need to be treated the same way your ancestors treated the Native tribes - taken to special schools, reeducated, and active eradication of a barbaric, primitive culture. As for the guns, you can keep those. The deaths of despair in farm country aren't going to commit themselves.

He didn't grow up here.  He spent his later years here, chickenhawking the young fratboys.

When I moved here, he was making $ by selling tshirts he'd shot holes in, which given his history, is a bit yikes.

There's a great photo of him and Kurt Cobain hanging out in his driveway here.

The spike in Covid in WI coincided with the start of Packers season. What do Packers fans do? Go to bars and have parties to watch games.  Then they go to work and school on Monday, and then they spread Covid. The morons in this state (50-60%) aren't going to stop these activities unless the businesses are shut down and parties broken up, which plenty of law enforcement has said they won't do even if ordered. We are farked until enough people are vaccinated and infected but recovered to start driving numbers down.

It's because they're selfish, entitled, mollycoddled, uneducated, bigoted assholes. That's why.
