Oh no, don't let my wife see that.  We have about a dozen Lenox clocks that are similar.  If she finds out there's another kind we'll have a boat load of them too.

How to know your clock is stupid and crappy:

it uses batteries and it has a swinging pendulum.

The most accurate clock in the world that I knew of before this link would lose a single second in 33,000,000,000 years. That clock cost millions of dollars. This one is infinitely more accurate, and costs less than $30USD.

Now with links that are lame-as-fark

should be in the rotation for subheadings under the site logo.

Disagree.  I'm guessing this guy has about 30 cats.   And they all wear matching outfits, including the owner.

Each night, it takes about 4 hours to get ready for bed as all 30 cats need to be put in their matching PJ's and have their hair brushed 100 times with their individual personal hairbrushes.

After the bedtime story is read to them, he tucks each individual cat into bed, pats their heads 3 times, and then turns out the light.  When the light is out, he says good night to each cat in a specific order.

It's the balancing on a narrow railing.  There was no other place (where it wouldn't plummet and smash to pieces) you could take this picture?  It's stupidly risky.

My Freshman year, I had choices in Shop. I chose to build the wooden case for a clock. I bought  the electric battery works, which included the face. I could design the case anyway I chose. I submitted the design and started. It took just over a week. That was 1970-71, I finished in time for Christmas but instead of giving it to someone I kept it. It still hangs in my study, clicking away the seconds. The batteries need replacing about every 2-3 years. Kinda proud of it. Hubby brags about it me making it for some reason even though we have several clocks, including a "Regulator Korean Coach Clock" that is magnificent in it's ugliness from the 1970s that has pride of place in the entry hall. Every Sunday, Hubby wanders through the house checking times and winds, but if my Shop Clock stops, I hear an "Oooh, No!" I find the ticking comforting in the study. It's amazing how many young people find the ticking of clocks irritating and (since the study has a single convertible bed) complain they can't sleep. I remind them that a mere five-miles away is a Motel 6 (currently advertising $66.99 as of yesterday). Don't touch the clock.

The most important is a Biedermeier clock an ancestress-by-marriage schlepped from Bohemia in the 1850s and keeps pretty good time. It must've been important to bring that thing 2nd class to America. My family dies with me. Hubby's family has no interest in anything non-Portuguese (or edible/farkable). I've photographed and documented in a private printing for libraries. Something may survive somewhere in 100 years.

Lurk Who's Talking: It's amazing how many young people find the ticking of clocks irritating

I'm old, and I find the ticking of clocks irritating.  That disappoints me, because I love the look of mantle clocks and grandfather clocks and such, and I do some basic woodworking myself, but I don't want to listen to the ticking.  My clocks are all digital just for that reason.

You're a sucker for punishment, aren't you?
Old sportscars (and I assume it's from the other side of the pond) are worse than boats.
Especially British ones.
But they are fun to drive and to ride in.

There's nothing wrong with collecting clocks, but it's definitely weird that you insist on torturing people with the ticking. I'd hit Motel 6 without hesitation.
