Dunno who it is that has the subscription and keeps submitting these, but it certainly sucks for the rest of us.

It didn't paywall me this time, but suffice it to say, it was many many words that simply could have said.

"if you are not part of the cult, you wouldn't be going to fox news anyway. "

Oh no, not the integrity of the *checks notes* Fox News website.

Tighten that headline up a bit.

Listen up children of America... don't let your stupid parents and teachers tell you that you can't make a fortune in America and rule over 70,000,000 Americans with just a high school diploma. Just look at Sean Hannity.

Oh noes. Terrible people and terrible journalists were confronted with worse people and worse journalism. However can Fox News recover from this blow?

I'm just assuming the FAIL tag is for posting paywall content

Wasn't Sean Hannity caught up in the Epstein "I didn't know the masseuse was 14 when she gave me a handjob" scandal with Dershowitz?  Maybe that's why he's spending so much time defending a man with pardon power instead of dumping Trump into a grease dumpster and moving on to the next big conservative a-hole.

Hoo boy, this will really tarnish Fox's otherwise sterling reputation for quality reporting.

Wait...there are there actually people who pay to subscribe to Daily Beast?

They're fine for a daily dose of confirmation bias if you really need one, but there's lots of places where you can get that for free.

Incognito mode does work, you know.   I don't subscribe and can read any linked article and even navigate on the page freely.  Go figure.

The natural progression continues. Eventually someone with enough power will get involved to turn this into an epic pissing match, as all extremist situations do. Just look what happened with "Unite the Right" and now the Proud Boys. It either flies apart or goes more extreme and as it goes more extreme it excludes huge portions of the population and demoralizes large chunks of the people that supported it. If it flies apart, it demoralizes them all. You either end up with a hardcore small few with a largely demoralized base or an entirely demoralized group.

Obviously, I would prefer the latter situation with all demoralized, but a small group of hardcore people is easier to track.

It takes balls for The Daily Beast to call someone else's website a disaster.

That's like Drudge calling someone else's website outdated.

I have noticed in the last two weeks or so a real change in the comments over at foxnews.com. The last four years or so the comments have been dominated by trump cultists, natch. But lately there hasn't been as much pro-trump nonsense and many critical posts are making it through. It's almost as if someone isn't paying for the troll/bot farms any more.

The vast majority of comments are written by a tiny percentage of readers (This is true for every website- I forget what percentage of Fark accounts are lurkers but it's high)  Those readers are usually the most partisan true believers, and those super-Trumpers are on OANN/Newsmax/Parler now.

My guess is that total comments on Fox are way down in general- the reality based community is still posting at the same rates but they aren't instantly buried in derp.

"hate fluffer" is such precious imagery, you really shouldn't strike that out.

Right-wing jobs are apparently assigned based on whoever wants to do it the most. Experience doesn't matter. Skill doesn't matter. Education doesn't matter. And if you question their ability, YOU'RE the asshole.

"Well let's see, we need someone to design a website..."

"Oh, I want to do that! I'm a tow truck driver with no experience, but it'll be fine."

"Ok, it's yours."

I'm hoping this is the kind of story that ends with him screaming at a bunch of empty chairs at some county fair somewhere.

"They see him as someone who is driven by everything that is antithetical to real journalism-snubbing truth for distortion that furthers an ideological agenda, prioritizing factory-scale productivity over quality that you get only through taking the time to confirm, to check, to challenge information and then writing and rewriting it to ensure a balanced and fair presentation of that news, and echoing the cable channel's Republicans-are-always-right mantra."

Yeah, that happens when you let a screaming hate demon drive your insatiable need for clicks and eyeballs. You tell yourself "it's okay, we can control him, it's only for a while..." and then BAM! suddenly he's your biggest moneymaker and you CAN'T slap him down because you might lose a little of that sweet money...so you let your monster shamble into the night and hope he doesnt kill too many people before he gets back to you.

Deals with the devil never ever work.

hubiestubert: Oh noes. Terrible people and terrible journalists were confronted with worse people and worse journalism. However can Fox News recover from this blow?

Fox News quietly dissolving the semblance of a barrier between its "straight" news and opinion news segments is pretty dangerous for all of us, especially when the main things being pushed week in and week out lately are "the election was stolen" and "masks/shutdowns don't work".  Don't *just* laugh at these assholes when they're literally killing us.  They've turned from a propaganda outlet to a state sponsor of terror.

BlastYoBoots: state sponsor of terror

Terrorist organization, my bad.  Used the term because it rolled off the tongue well, without looking it up.
