Uh, okay, I didn't know that was a thing for six years

I never got what its creators were trying to accomplish there. Except for McKinney and maybe Ash none of the other actors have consistent comedic chops. Meanwhile, the characters, just a bunch of unlikable shiatheels. That trope has been beaten to the ground already in much better shows.

The best part of Superstore: the scenes between the scenes, where they briefly show customers doing disgusting or ridiculous things. Anyone that has ever worked retail for any length of time knows that no matter how nonsensical or over the top the scenarios may seem, they have all 100% definitely happened at some point.

exactly this, i love those scenes. I enjoy the show when I would remember to watch it but not a "must-see show". I felt they made the big box manager way too stupid, those managers run a little city.

And a movie?

I read an article where all those incidents did happen and came from what writers saw when they were in stores or worked at them in their pre writer days. I think they also came from real store employees they talked to.

That was my first thought too.

Guess they need to make way for a more original concept.  Perhaps a show set in a hospital or police station?

I stopped watching after NBC cancelled "Telenovela".

The show absolutely went on too long, and really started falling off after the 2nd or 3rd season. They had a prime exit opportunity with the Amy and Jonah characters at the end of the previous season. Have them ride off into the sunset and life moves on at the store.

They should branch out and set it in a city like Chicago. Maybe even put "Chicago" in the title.

It's a fun show and I appreciate the message that workers deserve better compensation, but as someone pointed out, it was never drop everything and watch the next episode show.

Just like most people who work retail.

It was harmless and relatively inoffensive, like Everybody Likes Raymond. The tv version of a popcorn movie. I watched the first few seasons, stopped for some reason and forgot to start up again. I am glad they had a successful run.

Needs more Garrett and Dena.

I mean who didn't see this coming after Amy left?

Amy leaving felt really forced, and a big piece of the show feels like it's missing because of that. I'll join the chorus of liked it, but not must watch on the levels of The Good Place.

The show was hit or miss, but this scene from season 1 was absolutely brilliant:

I've had moments like that. Not about union talk, but where somebody says the wrong thing and suddenly all these unknown execs are copied onto a *very* serious email chain.

Huh, 6 years. And if this is the first time I'm hearing of this show, I can see why it should be cancelled.

Seriously. Never heard of it.

When I was working at a Canadian Tire department store back in the 80's this guy let his kid take a shiat in a display toilet.
The manager ordered us to clean it up. We loaded the toilet onto a cart and wheeled the toilet to the shipping doors and tossed it into a garbage bin.
We unboxed a new toilet and put that on display.
Nobody ever said a word about it.
I was new and only been working there for about a month.
Over the next 5 years the things I saw still haunt me.

Kevin Smith presents: "Chicago Clerks".

It will get 1 season but only 4 episodes in before it's canceled. Fans will have a decent sized write-in campaign to save the show that will end in futility but with a heavy sigh will result in a special edition DVD set with all the music changed for copyright and licensing reasons.

I heard of it, could swear that was only 4 years ago not 6, and I recall it being in a weird time slot and couldn't believe it actually got renewed for a 2nd season. Don't get me wrong it had its moments, but it always felt forced and the timing on most of the jokes was always off. It reminded me of "Red Dwarf" in that it was somewhat amusing but never actually "raff out roud" funny. It's the kind of show you watch when you literally have nothing better to do but play solitaire, like when you're laid up with a broken femur.

fark you all it was good
They just didn't get to the cloud 9 shooter episode, which would have been ground breaking and could have killed off a few useless characters.

Honestly this show is a heart full jape at life. No wonder majority of farmers haven't cared for it

Hey, I know...A TALENT SHOW!!  But one that also gives the viewer the performers' "backstories"....

You're right, that scheduled time slot *was* rather late for farmers in the Central time zone to watch.

"Chicago Hospital Security Squad the Musical" starring Magnum PI's mustache and Marky Mark's other brother.

I like this show, but it's one that will pile up on the DVR for a while before I decide to watch it, and then watch 3 or 4 at a time wondering why I don't make it more of a habit. Always some LOL scenes in every episode.

So how are they going to end it:  Cloud 9 closing due to the pandemic destroying business, or the store being bought out by Bain Capital and being slowly saddled with debt, or someone finally having enough and gunning down the cast and crew because that's the state of the union in 2020?
