(Nerdist)   Willow is going to have an unnecessary sequel. But points for Sorsha being the first woman to give subby "man" feelings when he was a kid. Still no cure for Val Kilmer   (nerdist.com) divider line
More: Stupid, Willow, Willow sequel TV series, Val Kilmer, Jon M. Chu, Willow series, story of the bravest heroes, Warwick Davis, Willow sequel series

The only real issue with the original is the Brownies are annoying AF.  Early versions of Jar Jar Binks for Lucas, methinks.

I think my favorite bit of trivia from the original was an interview with Jean Marsh to the effect of, "Between this role and being the Mombie from Return to Oz, kids are really going to hate me"

I'm ok with this in theory. Loved the original as a kid. Also General Kael had no inside voice whatsoever

I'd rather they make the followup books into sequels.

Well there's Tombstone and Heat. With a better writer/director there's no reason why his Batman had to suck.

"He's so drunk he's seeing double."

Val Kilmer: "I have two guns, one for each of you."

Kurt Russel :"And you tell them I'm coming. And Hell's coming with me."

Feel free to look up how old Warwick Davis was when he shot Willow and have your mind blown.

As for Kilmer, for the thousandth time, I'll recommend the underseen The Salton Sea. It's not perfect, but it's well worth trying out.

One thing's for sure.  If you thought Madmartigan could rescue Emora from Sorsha's camp, get away, and finding the leftovers of a rebel army, you'd think he had a snowball's chance.

He did

While stumbling into everything like an idiot. Such a fun character. Don't forget he was captured before...rescuing...the princess, then joining the rebel army...

frestcrallen: I remember rumours going around when Willow was in production that it was actually a new Star Wars film.

Huh. Fantasy Star Wars. Wand Wars? Hey, I've got a great title for a B-movie rip off of Harry Potter.

And I forgot how attractive Sorsha's actress was. Great character as well.

Googling Willow I was greeted with a photo that made me do a double take, I swore I saw Peter Dinklage in Willows village as a fellow villager. Then I googled him and he wasn't in it, it said Peter's first movie was in '91 and Willow was made in '88. Looked hella like him though.

He is only ten and twelve years older than the boy and girl who played his children.

And oh, that score by James Horner.

That score is "generic action adventure" in my head, and I mean that in a good way, like how you can't swing on a rope without a Tarzan yell
