460 would be more accurate subby, given that children in the custody of direct family members probably shouldn't count as lost or separated just because the parent isn't following up with the government.

There was only ever one Christian, and he died on the cross.

I figure if the people that brought them here are really the parents or the parents wanted there has been enough media and underground talk about how to come and get them.

Have you ever tried to get in touch with anyone in government? The hold time is insane. Especially if you're dead or in prison after being deported to the country you were seeking asylum from.

Sure.

In this case, one assumes the parent would have the ability to contact the relative the kid was placed with.

/Obviously people who doe after being removed wouldn't be able to use the phone.

If I just didn't feel like dealing with my kids anymore, I'd definitely walk thousands of miles with them so I could ditch them with relatives and get a free flight home.

I think you are misunderstanding me.

Parent + kid travel to US.

US does stupid wannabee Nazi separation policy.

US places kid with other relative. US deports parent (or not, per tfa, as many of the parents were still ultimately released into the US to await a court date).

The US government cannot find the parent. But if your kid was taken and placed with your sister or your eldest son, or your father, what have you, wouldn't they find you? Wouldn't you call your brother at some point, or them you?

The most likely explanation is that the parent IS in touch with the kid, but the parent is simply not contacting the government. And who would blame them? For many immigrants who get released on their own recognizance they know or believe they won't be given status, so of course they don't keep ICE up to date.

At no point did I say anything about parents choosing to abandon their kids after trekking to the US and getting removed.

/Again, obviously none of this would apply to someone who died
