Warren G. Harding, who until 2016 was considered America's worst president,

Who farking cares, they're all dead and Harding would still be considered a terrible president whether he had a side chick or not.

Not being funny, but was Harding really worse than Jackson?  I know both are definitely in the lower echelons, but I kind of thought Jackson was a pretty solid lock for 44th place.

Living relatives/descendants tend to care about such things.

Apparently they are seen as liars for looking back no more than two generations.

I never got the "where you came from" kick. I personally don't care. I knew my grandparents. Good enough for me.

I thought Buchanan always had the previous "Worst President" title. What with the Union breaking up on his watch and all.

At least now he can be celebrated as our first gay President.

Yeah, in history class it was pretty much a toss-up between Buchanan and Harding. It's now definitely Trump, but it will take some time for a significant portion of this country to admit that. Time, and prison terms.

Harding's election was the first time women were allowed to vote....and at that time Harding was considered the most handsome candidate.

Dusty old bone, hi-iis dusty old bo-one
Harding's dong is better left alone
Don't dig up the dingus of a dude that's dead and gone
Lay aside the spade and don't dig dusty old bones

Funny, though, how women in their first national election put the Dreamy Candidate over the top, and then pull the Creepy Old Jerk thing in retrospect.  Fast forward: oil/gas analinguist Justin Trudeau is the Dreamy Candidate.

Harding was an evil fark that did almost nothing except fark.  He pretty much let every crook, swindler, and farkwit he could find run things into the ground. Jackson was an evil farker, but he at lest gets props for activity.    I mena, it isn't much, but when your trying to make rather fine distinctions, you have to look at all parameters.

Similar to magazine articles and two authors inventing GenX, presidential history and claims of distinctions nefarious and laudable is determined by the literature surrounding the topic.

Harding is post-industrial history and Jackson isn't. I'm from Tennessee that had a slight border shift at one point, but claims three Presidents: Jackson, Polk, and Johnson. Jackson was responsible for the Trail of Tears that terminated in Oklahoma in which the number of deaths is challenging to estimate. Polk did okay. They Might Be Giants has a fact-based song about him. Johnson was America's compromise after Lincoln was assassinated and was forced out due to corruption and famously barely escaped full impeachment.

Kennedy's ghost-written Profiles In Courage has a chapter about Johnson that I was taught in AP History and has since been contended according to Wikipedia. I was taught the slim majority who refused to indict in the Senate did so for the sake of a precedent. The reasoning was impeachment procedures might become a partisan strategy pursued after every election. They all hated him, make no mistake. But the argument was for the integrity of the indirect democratic procedures of the republic.

Which is what many conservatives assert Trump is experiencing and has some basis given the FBI roams around with investigations of interminable length and has been sufficiently independent to investigate elected leaders at the very apex of US government-- potential presidential candidates. Hoover did this as well, but wasn't public about it-- he just extorted them all. His name should be de-platformed from every building except one.

Jackson was a dueling brigand of a leader and referred to Original People's as pests and why Harriet Tubman was considered to replace his mug on the double sawback. He was a sincere mass murderer, but so was most of America at the time.

But Johnson? His corruption is qualified as self-serving and corrosive to the progress of good governance. His kick-back schemes were the most "criminal" in character as they're given distinction of white males judging white males about money and insults that Jackson would have dueled over.

Um... supposed grandson and actual grandson want to exhume the body to see if they are related or not?

Seems like just comparing the two grandsons' dna could solve this without raising the dead.

Let's be real.  Franklin Pierce was the worst President.  Even worse than Trump.  Trump was at least sober.
