The series has been described as a prequel to the events in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings films and is expected to debut in late 2021 or 2022.

So....The Hobbit? I don't understand.

Its Merry and Pippin and the angsty teenage years growing up in Brandybuck Hall.  Lots of drama on who really likes who and every once in a while pulling a fast one on farmer Maggot.

I'm an average looking 58 year old IT guy from Minnesota, 5'10" and 235 pounds.  I've never acted in my life as I have no short term memory and can't memorize scripts.

I'll be playing Boromir.

Yup, those are names. I don't know any of them but they are names!

Without a list of what characters these actors are actually playing, I don't farking care.

As long as they finally include Tom Bombadil.

Maybe the time period where Sauron is guiding the Elves in the making of the Rings of Power. Or maybe not. All I remember is that the Tolkien estate wouldn't let them use anything that was actually told in detail in the Silmarillion or other published works. So they may just be winging it, with Elves, Dwarves, Orcs and Men noodling around in Middle Earth with plots they pull out of thin air.

If it's Second Age, there may not BE any Hobbits yet.  When Iluvatar made them, he didn't draw attention to them.. and no one seems to have noticed any around until the Third Age.

Glorfindel was supposed to be a member of the Fellowship. Also Durin VI or whatever number he was. Not sure why he changed it.

Weird since Chef! just started streaming on Britbox.

There it is! Head of security or whatever at the ministry in Harry Potter... also west world. Though I didn't realize that's as the same guy until this moment.

He's a poppy farmer in Ozark.

He's also in Cursed as a paladin.

To be honest, unless I knew every single thing you've ever watched, I'm going to be doing a lot of guessing.

Because Glorfindel had already done the whole "fight a Balrog, kill it but be killed and reborn again" thing.  You really can't repeat the story with Gandalf in that role when Mr. Hello, I've already done this before is standing right there.

Other than 'people are too stupid to call it anything else' why is this nearly always referred to as 'Amazon's Lord of the Rings series' when it is NOT based on the Lord of The Rings? Is 'Amazon's new Middle Earth series' just too hard to comprehend?

ACKSHUALLY, if the events of the story take place on Numenor in the Second Age, then its not Middle Earth at all. And if Sauron AKA 'The Lord of the Rings' is the main villain...

Chessmate!

/First Age
/Second Age
/Third Age
