My bad, I blame the powerful beers, but I thought this was about Ruth Bader Ginsberg.

Why the hell do I want one more thing to clean shiat off of in my bathroom? The toilet bowl and cat box is enough.

Word on the street is she could wreck a toilet.

I like leaving my PCs in S3 sleep mode and rarely reboot. My last build was my only RGB build so far and I made the mistake of buying a mobo that keeps that fooking RGB crap lit up while in standby and since its in a small room its totally distracting. As soon as the warranty expires I'm firing up a soldering iron and yoinking every last LED from that board.

I have one of those and it's terrific. I always hate turning on the light when I have to pee in the middle of the night and it's great not having to do that, plus your pee makes for interesting color combinations. If you throw one of those things that turn the water blue it's even trippier. All in all, it's been a nice upgrade in my bathroom experience. Now I just need to figure out how to hook up a bidet.

If your toilet dissents, use a plunger?
What is this?

Oh
Roy G Biv.

Wow, I don't think I've seen such a shameless plug before.

FYI they kinda suck. When they do work (a couple had shiat lifespans, but wife wanted to try em and she got a couple different types before giving up), they still catch all the splash back and all that literal shiat so cleaning is required, and it's a bit more than just a porcelain side.

Same.  I was thinking "What, you put a lace collar on it or something?"

And I'm sober.

Spend the time and money on installing a quality bidet add-on.
Far more value...
Just gotta ask yourself, "Do I want a clean asshole? Or a f*cking light show when I poop?"

Your driver disk/install should have a program that controls all that and can turn it completely off.  RGB Fusion is a big one and it has an "off" button.  Once you turn it off while booted, that should translate right over to sleep/standby.  Ymmv of course but every LED on my Gigabyte Aorus can be shut off - with the exception of bios LED, clock and MB power on-board button (if it has one).

I'm wondering that if you don't have your LED program installed if it is doing that in standby as a result.  I have mine set to Blue and sleep turns everything off just fine.  And like you suggest, if it is not off, it is bright as shiat in the middle of the night.

Or buy a case that doesn't have a window

I don't build my computers with RGB.

I'm old enough to know that what seems cool now, is going to look completely and embarrassingly stupid in about 10 years time.

Not that you didn't put significant work into it, kudos there, but the cup-holder in my ex's Kia Soul had color-changing LED lighting almost a decade ago.

Yeah, or at the very least you'd think there would be a setting for it in the bios.  I don't have much experience with RGB components, though, as I don't give two shiats about aesthetics.  I'm still using a crappy generic case I bought for a build like 20 years ago.  It still has an Athlon XP sticker on the front of it from its original build.

You can also just turn it off in the BIOS on some motherboards. I know Asus boards have that option.

I have a bidet installed on the master throne. When I shuffle in for a midnight piss it pops the lid and turns a bowl light on for me. My tile has never been cleaner.

True.  So true.  Except I don't have a cat and I blame the insufficient caffeine levels.

Am I the only one confused by using the term RGB to describe LED lights? To my ears, it's like saying I'm going buy a can of CMYK for the living room, or I'd like to Pantone my car.

Got to experience something similar to that one, at the Incheon airport during a fourteen hour layover.
Needless to say, I took my time...

Generally the point of RGB is to control it in fancy ways... So there should be software from the manufacturer like Asus or Gigabyte or ASRock or whoever to have chase mode, different colors, flashing, always on, off, etc.
