The members of the group want to re-establish a Nazi dictatorship and abolish democracy, the interior ministry said.

So... when are we doing this against the GOP?

2020-12-01 8:12:54 PM
The country that already had Nazis take it over is being proactive against them.

Listen, America.

Getting pro-active.  I don't know if you've heard, but Germany has had problems in this area before.

F*ck.

I'll take it.

Yet another reason germany is doing things better than the US.

When will we learn?

What even happen to free speach?

For context, the Nazi Party was a major force in German politics during the 1930s and 1940s.

2020-12-01 10:16:43 PM
The equivalent in the US wouldn't be banning a pro Nazi group, but banning a pro Confederacy group.

But we can't do that, I mean, what about all those states rights traitors activists?

2020-12-01 10:16:53 PM
A pro nazi group? So they are still cool with amateur nazis, right?

There are lots of times where speech is limited. There is legal precedent to criminal charges for threatening someone. Though, you wouldn't think so with the way Y'allqueda is let off when they threaten everyone and their uncle over Trumplethinskin's loss electoral loss.

Nazis tend to make a LOT of threats. They want to violently purge anyone who doesn't adhere to their ideals. Look at the Holocaust.

In a civil society that kinda shiat should fly as well as a 2-ton pigeon with 2-inch wings.

My friends and I are big gamers. They end up funding kickstarters for all these interesting board games. Me? I just play them with them. Some are not so good. Some are cool. There was one that had such a successful kick starter that it went international and spawned some expansions. It's called "Fortune and Glory" and it's sorta like everyone is an Indians Jones finding artifacts before the Nazis do. My friends told me that it has sold well in many countries. Except Germany. They can't sell it in Germany. Because the tokens that designate the bad guys are swastikas.
Oh and the game is pretty damn fun if your interested:

"Whoever fights against the basic values of our free society will get to feel the resolute reaction of our government," Interior Minister Horst Seehofer said. "There's no place in this country for an association that sows hatred and and works on the resurrection of a Nazi state."

Interesting statement.
Intolerance of intolerance in action?
Or the actions of a police state attacking sovereignty of a free people?

Germany is not a police state, half if it hasn't been one since 1989 and the other half hasn't been since 1945.

The far-right group, founded in 2016, is also known for its anti-Semitic and racist ideology as well as its violent and aggressive appearances in public and on social media.

Also? I mean, if you are a group working to bring back the Nazis, isn't that the default stuff to be known for?

FTFA: On Tuesday, officers found knives, a machete, a crossbow, and bayonets during their raids.

Farking christ. Raid a nazi lair here in the States and you'll find enough firepower to equip half the goddamn German army.

Sure says a lot about German gun laws (and enforcement thereof) that even a group active across multiple states, with the most evil, seditious intent imaginable, couldn't find and/or afford a single firearm. (I refuse to believe they were smart enough to keep them offsite in a place the government couldn't find.)

While I wish you were right, never going to happen. Oklahoma City was in response to Ruby Ridge. Which was in response to the Waco Siege. The federal government has farked up hard enough and often enough dealing with these groups when they were confined in to their compounds deep in the middle of nowhere.

Now they're patrolling streets armed with sheriffs badges or SWAT patches, or federal agents, staking out internet sites, and joining groups like III percenters, and patriot militias that mobillize along the Mexican border. It would be advocating civil war.

I hope it gets changed here in the USA to specifically not allow hate speech or lying by declared news sources.

Here's a simple way to go after all the far-right hate groups in the US - the government needs to trademark their symbols and put astronomical fines and prison sentences on illegally using government trademarks. This way you're not infringing on anyone's "free speach" - you're going after them for IP violations which the Constitution doesn't cover. I'd love to see cops pull over a bro-truck with a confederate flag sticker and give them a $10k ticket.

What does it say when inviting Germany to invade to help take care of a Nazi problem doesn't actually sound like that crazy of an idea?

The fire in crowded theater quote is from a precedent that got overturned in 1969.  The standard post brandenburg is if the speech incites "imminent lawless action".
