Vandy's not so dandy this year.

Penn State's not so much better, but at least we won a game thus far.

Good for Sarah, I was hoping she'd get a shot at an extra point.

It isn't just this year.  Last year we had 3 seniors return to have their final year wasted.

New coach in the new year...it won't matter.   :(

Is it baseball season yet?

So I saw a clip of her kickoff.  Was that an intentional squib kick or did she just muff it?

That's all well and good...until a cyborg shows up in the second half to kill her!

Intentional squib. It was designed to prevent a return and it worked. She did exactly what she was asked to do and did it perfectly.

It was "intentional" (as in, it was a squib).

But... She looked like a Pee Wee footballer who kicks it off the toe. It was farking laughably bad, and then to have someone covering the game call it a wonderful kick, I just shook my head.

I'm sorry, but anyone who implies that was a great kick is wrong. It was horrible. If that's what you want out of a squib, again, go watch toddlers play the sport. That's a "great" or "perfect" kickoff there. A squib can have some movement, some spin, and look more than like someone chunked their drive on a golf course.

She won conference co player of the week for that kick.

Shiat like THAT? It sets women back in the sport, it doesn't help them.

SEC co-player of the week for special teams. For a single play. A thirty yard kickoff. I'd be ashamed to accept it.

Gosh, you guys, don't you care about the sanctity of SEC Player of the Week?!? This is an OUTRAGE!?!?

Yes. The game was clearly on the line. I assume the opposing coach chewed out the guy that covered it and stopped it from going out of bounds resulting in a penalty.

If they let her kick off or try a 40 yard field goal with the game actually dependant on it, then you have something.
If that happens, good for her! But I doubt it will.

Also, that kickoff wasn't going out of bounds, lol, there were two Vandy players who'd have gotten to it first. And a kickoff is live, so if that guy doesn't catch it, then Vandy has their biggest play of the day and maybe avoids a shutout.

/lol they'd still have been shut out
//I love that she apparently called the team out at halftime, because she's actually played for a good team before and knows how good teams act while their sorry-ass team doesn't.

For stepping up in her team's hour of need.  She's the Kendall Hinton of college ball.

I mean technically she scored me more fantasy football points than Kendall Hinton did. Since Hinton got me between -2 and -3 points in two leagues (zero in the third).

Being a special teams player in the SEC is like being a white sprinter in the Olympics or the Brazilian goalie during the World Cup.

You're there, you're part of the spectacle, you're even technically part of the competition. And if the announcers say your name too many times, most likely it's because something has gone horribly, horribly wrong.

Were I to be her, it would drive me crazy to see the different approaches. I cannot stand whiners and complainers more interested in throwing pity parties than fixing problems. I've no doubt that she is correct about the differences in culture between the two worlds but the problem is that the reason we know about it is because she spoke publicly about it which is a stupendously efficient way to alienate yourself right out of the gate.

The only shame in that game last week was that Vandy was so awful that the 2nd half kickoff was the only time she was able to see the field.

What on Earth were you doing starting Hinton?

Eh, who cares, she probably figured this was her one game. Now maybe she gets another, but it's not like she's expecting to have a career as a football kicker.

If you were named SEC co-player of the week, the SEC would be ashamed.

She's better than half the college kickers out there already.   That isn't a compliment.

He was my third WR in a big league. I figured if he could get about 90-100 yards passing/running out of wildcat he'd be better than what you normally have there. If he had a competant backup game, I'd coast. In the end, it oddly didn't even matter because all three of my games were blowouts (2 in my favor, 1 against me) but man, that was not a good decision this week and went really bad.

Not a compliment, and not ever remotely close to true.
