I'm not sure that "I'll blatantly defy the order" counts as a loophole.

Had a restaurant do that around here. Town went in and pulled his food service license.  He's all contrite now.

East at Joe's is three blocks from me. For some reason, it always has lines on weekend mornings. I've eaten there a few times, and the food is unspectacular. It's basically Denny's, but without the class.

Being caddy corner to the police station may be sustaining its business.

Ignoring the health department is a risky move that might pay off for a barbershop.  If you are running a restaurant, you might as well close now (I don't think you can time the "go fund me" to deliver *after* the bankruptcy).

Is the loophole because it's "laundry"? Was the restaurant that Newsome ate at using the same loophole? Unclear.

So is the governor of California, apparently.  Maybe if the leaders want people to take the pandemic seriously, they should start taking the pandemic seriously.

Spiffy subby? Fark off. Though the whole restaurant industry is farked anyway. Either go out of business or contribute to the pandemic.

/Ate at this joint a bunch as a kid, it was alright, plenty of other good breakfast options around
//Last year anyway

We are not patronizing any businesses right now except one grocery store, one dispensary, and one gas station. Otherwise, we are STAYING HOME and have been since February 2 (the last take-out food we have had this year).

I am specifically noting businesses that try to weasel out of restrictions and plan on *never* patronizing them in the future even when it is "safe" to do so.

So keep reporting these assholes. I'm paying attention.

He went to one gathering and has since abjectly apologized for it, but yes ALWAYS PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH! But you really need to look at people Noem for the label of plague rat.

One that you know of.

He's a plague rat AND an attention whore, with the brains to match.

There's no stimulus. There's no relief from California on restaurants.

There was a stimulus, but Trump and the GOP made sure the pandemic would outlast it, so of course everything is Commifornia's fault.

Have fun getting your operators license voided by the state.

I'm not going to defend him or those like him. Leadership demands a higher standard, and he's not fit for the role if he can't set a good example for his citizens. I hope someone better challenges him for his party's candidacy in the next election.

This is not a BSAB situation, either. There are bad people of all political stripes, sure, but one side is consistently bad from top to bottom. Everybody needs to be better.

A notable popular restaurant in my home city recently moved to take over the restaurant at the airport, which had gone out of business due to the first shutdown. This was the first time in a couple decades that the restaurant space at the small airport was routinely filled with customers. During this shutdown, their loophole is that food service at airports can stay open. Even on days and times when there is no outgoing flight, they're open...

Maybe a lot of people would like one gathering. Is it cool if they do it and then profusely apologize (for being called out for it)?

If 1200 or 2400 or 3600 or even 5000 will get you through 9 months, minimum wage will do just as well.

Yeah, if only there were other states. Just doesn't seem fair that he's literally stuck in the only state. Several others have nice weather and beaches.

You are defending him and the liberals when you say the other side is "really" bad.

Just out of curiosity, how self-entitled a plague rat do you have to be to A) think being paid minimum wage for risking your life by providing nonessential services to more self-entitled plague rats like yourself is a viable option and B) avoid placing blame for the whole pandemic shiatshow on the federal lack-of-government, where it belongs?
