I doubt that a Covid vaccine will prevent Brady from throwing interceptions or forgetting what down it is.

I would go with:
1) Front line Responders
2) At risk individuals
3) Everyone else
4) Anti-maskers / anti-vaxxers

Can't wait to see what happens when people start arguing over the definition of "essential worker" now.

/we should absolutely be prioritizing essential retail and logistics workers right now

Bullshiat-cutting list:
1. It's not yet available.
2. None of the vaccines about which you've heard are approved yet by the FDA, and probably won't be for at least another month. The Trump admin is, as we speak, trying to force the FDA to provide emergency use approval, circumventing even the bare-minimum practices put in place for such.
3. The figures in the article are based on Azar's bullshiat, not reality.
4. The CDC voting only applies when the vaccine's available.
5. We probably won't be getting it first.

What you're seeing here is, quite simply, the entire Trump administration's determination to be the folks who brought you the COVID-19 vaccine. They don't care if it's effective, or even safe, and sure as hell couldn't give a shiat about you. It's all about giving Trump's ego a big ol' handjob, and the GOP a "win" that they can claim out of all of this before Biden's inauguration.

Be wary.

We have deals with Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZenica, and Novovax, if & when they produce an FDA-approved vaccine. Problem is, none of them have done so yet - Trump's trying to pressure the FDA into giving the first two emergency use auth because they're the front-runners in their clinical trials - and the Trump administration is desperate to do so before Biden's inauguration.

Even if you have to die, Trump wants a win. I'd laugh my ass off if it wasn't terrifying.

BlackChickWhiteAccent: Let me see. It'll be all the billionaires, NFL/NBA/NBL/NHL athletes, Republican politicians, and the Kardashians. The exact muthafarkers who already have more than enough access to rapid testing and safety protocols.

So if they get vaccinated first, does that mean they get to walk around maskless? Will they have lots of parties to celebrate?

It is seriously some sick, sad, bullshiat that they even have to have farking meetings to figure out who needs the vaccines the most. Take care of the populace.Get folks back to work, and get money circulating to prop up this bullshiat economy. Otherwise I promise you, those of us still living will burn this muthafarker down.

What are you going on about?  There will be a limited supply of the initial batch of vaccines.  There has to be a determination of who should get it first.  That's the whole point, there isn't enough for the "populace," so decisions will have to be made.

1. They're voting on authorization next week for the Pfizer vaccine and a week after that for the Moderna vaccine, moron.  Not a month from now.
2. We need priorities for when they're approved.  They're already distributing the vaccines out to where they need to do.  As soon as they're approved, vaccines will be given almost instantly based on priority.
3. Who the freaking hell is 'We'?

Far as I had heard was the administration was leaving it up to the states to determine priority.  Did that change?

Most plans I've heard so far are:
1. Health Care workers
2. Elderly
3. Non-elderly vulnerable (asthmatics, diabetics, obese, etc)
4. Essential workers (ie, people that can't work remote)
5. Anyone else that's not a child

Children are not included in this, although Pfizer did test on kids down to age 12... with that said, they're the least vulnerable to the disease, so even once it's ultimately approved for them, they'll still be at the very bottom of the pecking order.

2020-12-01 12:42:01 PM

There's a snowball's chance in hell the FDA will fold on this, the head of the FDA used to run MD Anderson, so dealing with Trump's stupidity won't even register with him. I suspect that the approval will come before the end of the year, not because of political pressure, but because the FDA knows how critical the situation is. We're things accelerated? Of course, it's a pandemic, they always say, "Better, faster, cheaper, pick two". We went with faster and better and threw heaps of money at the problem.

I suppose it depends on who politicizes it.  Trump sure as hell isn't bringing us a vaccine.  Sh*t, the board and executives at Pfizer have little to do with it.  There are people right now knee-deep in activities directly related to vaccinating the world who will deserve the credit.  We'll never learn their names.

It's not weird at all.  When we get to the at risk population phase of the vaccine rollout, if there needs to be a prioritization of the list, it would make sense to rank it according to who is more likely to require hospitalization if they contracted Covid. If that makes the list go elderly, obese, diabetics, asthma/COPD, hypertension, pregnancy, then so be it.  Hospitals are being stretched thin in a lot of areas, reducing admissions and ICU patients is paramount.  If some of you need to biatch about fatties, fine, but it makes sense to prioritize them.

It's not an easy problem really. If the goal is to minimize spread, then vaccinated essential workers who work in high risk environments. So, what? Airline stewardesses, prison guards, meat packers? If the goal is to minimize deaths, then vaccinated essential workers who work with high risk individuals. Hospice, icu, etc.

I'm just making up examples, but there are surely some difficult trade-offs that will be made early on.

I'll say it....
1) Prisoners
Start with the worst, murderers, rapists, & those who harm children.  We taxpayers pay for their food and shelter so unless you want to be cut off, shut up and take the shot.

2) Then place COVID positive in their room

3) We wait.  If they grow a third arm, my bad.

Geneva Convention can take a time out due to mass virus outbreak.

2020-12-01 1:10:22 PM
Not an expert, but my vote would be
-all medical workers
-cops
-essential workers that deal with the general public
-elderly and at risk people outside those categories
-the rest of the essential workers
-the general population

I could flip the essential workers that deal with the general public and the elderly/at risk population, but I just think it makes more sense to vaccinate the gas station clerk or grocery store worker that comes into contact with 500 strangers a day first.  We can limit visits at nursing homes for a few more months.

You slow a disease by hitting the people that are most likely to spread it.

/two cents.
