When Jesus Christ Superstar came out it ran late in rural theaters, and it showed up here in coal country in time for Christmas. Out here in the middle of evangelical hell, you can imagine, something called Jesus Christ, Superstar wasn't a real popular theatrical concept. Especially, at Christmas time. This is a town that uses little babby Jesus, you LORD AND SAVIOR in local advertising in print media.
My sister, a Holy Roller, but one that keeps it to herself, (The good kind of Christian, Christ-like, and no preachin' or judgin') wanted to see it, but didn't want to go alone. Being only 14. Me, I was 18 and said, I'll take you.
We were the only 2 in the house.

Private viewing.

I learned from that experience, that if you pick the right time, you can have an entire theater to yourself, and have done so for many great movies.

Oh, and it knocked her socks off.

It's a debate that's torn families apart

If that's the case, your family was f*cked to begin with.

It's a movie in which Christmas has to be saved.

Swear to freakin' God, if you go by the number of movies in which Christmas has to be saved you'd think it was the holiday incarnation of one of those movie serial ladies who was always getting tied to railroad tracks.

All I know is "White Christmas" ain't no Christmas movie.  They sing the title song twice, and in between there's a lot of nonsense that doesn't involve C'mas.  I was disappointed when I finally saw it.
