So long as they keep the Warriors 3 dead, it's fine. Screw those stupid guys. Best thing Ragnarok does is kill them without even having them on screen long enough for anyone to realize who they are.

Stan Lee?

Thanos speared him in the chest.. but who knows, that alone may not be enough to kill an Asgardian permanently.  Then there's the exploding ship, but Thor survived that himself.

I was hoping for Loki.

Is it Thor's original character from before they turned him into a valley girl?

So...?  Are ALL Asgardians gods?  Or is this another example of the ruling class?  Sure the peons seemed mostly happy being handmaids, cannon fodder and all that.

But there seems to be a huge discrepancy in durability over the films.  Sure Thor develops once he is no longer the god of hammers, but who's in 2nd and how far behind is 2nd place?  Like could 2nd even LOOK at a star much less hold open an iris portal?  Could 2nd survive ungeared in space?

One of those middle of the night thoughts...

2020-12-01 7:59:14 AM
Have him walk up to Natalie Portman on the first 60 seconds and yank the hammer out of her hands.

Heimdall: "Gimme this thing. Now go away and don't make any more movies".

As Valkyrie watches from the sidelines: "Awesome. Let's go fark some shiat up."

I'd watch that.

They never showed what happened to her.. and the actor's TV show is over.  She could return.. if they want someone else standing around being jealous of Jane Foster again.

Well if they're following the old comics she's been off getting a portion of cybernetic carnivorous horse alien cock, so probably not especially jealous.

Now that its all tied off, I am disappointed that I no longer have interest in any of this stuff. But I don't. Live, die, return from the dead, whatever. No interest at all. That bums me out a bit but it's also somewhat liberating.

I'd be on board with the Thor-goes-around-finding-human-soul-bound-Asuardians like in the comics circa 2008.  The main problem is they kindof wasted a fair amount of the plot from those stories on the Ragnarok MCU story.

What I heard a while back is that this will be the most fun and bonkers movie a 10 year old comic book fan could possibly want, even more so than Ragnarok.

I think that was just the white power crowd that realized that Jesus was a Jew, so they tried to worship Norse gods instead.

I'll take Idris Elba in pretty much any role he wants.

I'd really love to see him as Bond.

rockymountainrider: So...?  Are ALL Asgardians gods?  Or is this another example of the ruling class?  Sure the peons seemed mostly happy being handmaids, cannon fodder and all that.

No, all Asgardians are not gods. There are those who have the bloodline of the gods, and those who do not. The vast majority of Asgardians are "common" Aesir.

Buri the first god, his son Bor Burison (and his other two sons Mimir Burison, and Njord Burison the founder of the Vanir), Bor's son Odin Borson (and Odin's brothers), Odin's daughter (in the MCU) Hela Odindottir and his son Thor Odinson, Frigga Freyrdottir (Odin's wife, Thor's mother who is a Vanir, the daughter of Frey and niece to Idun), Heimdall (who, by the way, was birthed by nine mothers!), and others we haven't seen (Balder, for example) are gods, either Aesir or Vanir, of Buri's line.

However, "regular" Asgardians (Aesir, but not directly related to Buri) are still stronger, faster, more durable, longer lived, and generally better than humans from Midgard in every conceivable way. They're not anywhere near the power levels of Bor's family or Heimdall or any of the others who are known as gods, though.

The Warriors Three were not gods.

* Fandral was a "regular" Aesir. He was also said to be the inspiration for Robin Hood because he was visiting Midgard and being his usual dashing self.
* Volstagg was also an Aesir, not directly in the family line of Buri. The MCU version was a smaller, younger version of the comic book version.
* Hogun was a Vanir, but because he spent so much time on Asgard he was considered a naturalized Asgardian.

All three were very tough, but still easily killed by Hela. Sif, however, is Vanir descended from the line of Buri, and therefore a goddess (and in the comics, she's Heimdall's sister... I'm not sure if they're going to go with that in the MCU considering the... differences... between them.)

Loki Laufeyson is not Asgardian as he has pointed out before. He's a small frost giant. He refers to himself as the "god of mischief" but in reality he's not a god in the truest sense. He's a very powerful being, and he was trained by Frigga to use Asgardian magic (and it IS magic), but his durability and long lifespan is due to his giant heritage.

So... TL;DR - Odin's family, Heimdall's family (including Sif), and a few others we haven't seen in the movies are what you could call gods. Most other Asgardians are not, though they're still a lot tougher than humans. Loki's a god but technically in name only, as he's really just an outcast frost giant that is a well-trained sorcerer courtesy of being raised by mother who was a god.

Right, and in a later season, she got in a fight with a Kree, who wiped her memory for a while.

Both were long before Ragnarok, though.

Yeah, near the end it was.  Bill's story arc was fantastic:
