Leaders? None of those chumps know what leadership is.

2020-11-30 9:17:34 PM
That's asking if they ever did.  The answer to that is also no.

You can apply that question to all Republican leaders, not just the subset of Trump.

Republicans acting decent gets you all sorts of Republican abuse.  Why are you acting like a lib?

Compromise. Compassion. Basic humanity. A Republican craves not these things.

Grifters have no sense of shame. Calling them 'leaders' only enables them, so maybe knock that sh*t off. We are years past being polite about this crap.

'LOL' pretty much says it all.

The "Leaders" are following the will of their "People"...

They attack decency on sight.

They don't have leaders, only a mascot.

Republicans proved that it's party over country when only Mittens voted to remove him from office. Were we living in a nation that had political parties with any sense of duty to the people and the rule of law, ALL of them would've voted to remove.

History will remember those who stood by as his crimes continued to pile up, and those who did something about it.

Womp womp.

Oh sure, they had "decency", only when they could clutch at pearls and at something a Democrat said.

The GOP is a party chockablock with white supremacists, religious fundamentalists, avaricious neo-feudalists, and your garden variety sociopaths...

Oh, and morons... sooo many farking morons.

It's not really surprising a low-rent charlatan and illiterate carnival barker is their saviour

I honestly feel like the republicans have just given up. They won't outright say trump was a massive blow to their party, but they are very aware of it and don't know what to do.

That was before the Dem party switched from being the cement-headed bigots to supporting civil rights.

Republicans are barely human.

Republicans have one goal: staying in power.
They finance this goal via supporting whatever policies that their 0.1-percenter donors want.
They get their votes from duping the racists and evangelicals into blindly supporting them.
You will notice that the concept of "decency" does not even enter the picture.

It's not just that.

Even McCarthy was on the authoritarian kick when he was carrying out his so-called 'Red Hunt', and would have loved nothing more than to remove rights from a helluva lot of citizens solely on his word that they were Communists and therefore enemies of the state.  The Republicans went all in with him, just like they have with Trump.

The only real thing that brought McCarthy down was that he attacked the Army and Eisenhower (both of whom were seen as heroes even many years after WWII).  We don't have anything like that to bring any sort of sanity back to the Republican party.  So expect them to lurch ever rightward and to continue their search for the perfect dictatorial type for their next Presidential nominee.

I was going to say that Trump finally losing feels like the "Have you no decency?" moment for the MAGA movement, when they expected sweeping triumph and everyone just sort of turned their backs in disgust, instead.  But you're right; it's a half-measure.  McCarthy's downfall broke the Red Scare like a fever.  All we've done is lower the patient's temperature a degree or two.

Trick question. If they had any decency, they wouldn't be Republicans.

Exactly.  The fact that the Republicans won more seats than they expected seems to also feed into that (although most people going through the election believe that the reason Republicans won more seats is that even with the pandemic, a lot more citizens turned out to vote, and a lot voted for Republicans).

I think we'll see just how strong MAGA actually is, however, come 2022 and the midterms.  Yes, I know that history has shown that the opposing party to the President wins a lot more seats in midterms, but if enough people actually are turned off by Trump and his constant BS (and I expect that he'll try to inundate the media with everything Trump), we may see the Democrats keep their majority in the House and possibly build one in the Senate (moreso if the GA senatorial race turns in their favor).

Seriously.  When Pope Francis came out with his Encyclical on the Environment, I was like, "Here we go!  Time to separate the wheat from the chaff!" and every last one of them said, "Fark the Pope!  Capitalism is our God!"
