Companies whose names are stupid misspellings of common words have existed since the dot-com boom of the 90's.  They usually die a quick death when the market doesn't take them seriously.

Yup. Parler=to speak, as in "Parlez-vous Francais?"

You generally can't trademark a common word (at least all on its own)

But you can trademark a misspelling

It is, yes. They changed the pronunciation to 'parlor' because the original was too foreign for their users to tolerate.

Yeah, as a Canadian, this is my first time realizing there are English speakers who don't know what "parler" is.
